I had always wanted to try pottery but there wasn’t anyplace local. BISC Pottery was exactly what I was looking for. Sharon, the owner/instructor, is a friendly, knowledgeable and patient teacher. She gives a lot of encouragement and always has tips and ideas for you to utilize. Mistakes are explained so you can see how to prevent them next time. Sharon is so welcoming, you instantly feel at home in the studio. I look forward to my class all week! It’s my weekly break from the craziness of life. You have to clear your mind and focus solely on your clay. It’s really relaxing and refreshing, if that makes sense. The fee for class is reasonable-you get a 2 hr class, clay, all the tools you’ll need, glazes/paintbrushes and firing of your piece. The classes last for 3 sessions, one per week. After that, you can signup again for another 3 and/or go for open studio time on Monday nights.(you pay by the hour for this). It gets messy, but you’ll be having too much fun to care! Just wear clothes and shoes you don’t mind getting dirty. (Aprons are provided and protect you somewhat.) Treat yourself and try something...
Read moreI recently went to Bisc Pottery Studio for the Play With Clay Class. This was my first time taking a pottery class and it was a lot of fun. Sharon the owner is very nice and patient. She explains the steps in details and walks around and gives each student one on one attention and helps you as the class goes along. There is plenty of parking, it's BYOB, she plays a good playlist and bring your creativity to make whatever your heart desires. I also want to point out I left my tripod at home and Sharon was so nice to offer her tripod with a ring light for us to use, super appreciative of that. I highly recommend Bisc Pottery. This was a fun date night experience for both me and my date. Also, want to point out Bisc Pottery is a black owned...
Read moreI took the three week class and had an amazing time! My goal going into the class was to have a matcha cup and bowl with a sea theme. And Sharon helped me achieve just that. I enjoyed the laid back approach of the instructing , she guides you at first and really just lets you figure it out at your pace. It’s very comforting and don’t feel rushed at all. She is very approachable and nice. The three week course is perfect for people looking to see what pottery has to offer them in a bite size dose. Looking forward to joining a...
