Alfredos Italian American Deli — Restaurant in Scotch Plains

The owner is a racist piece of garbage. I have seen him treat his employees like slaves. He's not even Italian, He's Egyptian. Every time I stop here to get a sandwich there is always something with this guy. Today I was craving an egg sandwich and it was about 11am. I know some places stop serving breakfast at a certain hour but hey. Its not the end of the world if you make one at 1130am. Plus I'm a paying customer so do you need to really make a big fuzz of it? There was about 3 customers waiting and 4 employees behind the counter. I wanted to order with the girl because I know she's friendlier but he asked me if I was being helped, I said no, I'd like to order an egg sandwich and right after I said it he interrupt me and says'' we very busy right now and it's gonna take 15 to 20 min for a breakfast sandwich plus we don't do that at this time the kitchen is very busy'' and stepped away. Left me there standing without even giving me a chance to say anything. I simply walked out. Screw this place. How about you offer me something else? Or say hello'' let me see what I can do sir'' no people skills whatsoever. Or maybe he doesn't like me because I'm latino? Who knows. But one this is for sure I'm done...

Ayyy Italiano! Delicious deli meats, finally a wide menu selection that makes sense. I've been to plenty of deli/sub shops over the years to tell if it's authentic or not. Alfredos is the REAL DEAL. The staff are very friendly, it's clean and great food for a fair price. I always order the Soprano sandwich. Have a taste preference? Choose what your appetite deserves and ask to make an exception. Have something specific in mind? Just ask! One time they made up a custom sandwich right then and there.

I also use them for lunch catering every so often. It was more than what I asked for. Extra condiments, napkins, simple needs etc. they include that, but the sandwiches?!? Wow!! Delicious! Perfectly pre-cut so you're not cutting them into bite size serving portions. This deli has been here for as long as I can remember, it's become a "staple" in the neighborhood. After seeing the one spread of Russian dressing I politely requested to add a little more and was accommodated.
