One of the standout reasons we keep returning to Darby’s is the exceptional staff. Our journey began with Ian, who always greets us with a warm smile. Ian’s attentiveness is unparalleled; he ensures we have an ice bucket for our wine without us even asking. From our very first visit, he remembered us and our preferences, making us feel like valued regulars. Although we don’t see Ian as often now, he always makes time to stop by and say hello, showcasing his dedication and hard work.
The service at Darby’s is truly outstanding, a sentiment echoed by many. We’ve developed a habit of visiting just to enjoy the company of the wonderful staff and perhaps indulge in a drink. Jordan and Katie are absolute superstars. They pour a perfect pint of Guinness every time, with the cascade just right. Their cordial and friendly nature makes every visit special. They are incredible assets to this public house. If we ever opened our own pub, we would probably steal both of them from Darby's.
While we do not know the hostesses at the front of the house by name, we are always greeted right away. We are never left talking to the hostess podium, which adds to the welcoming atmosphere.
We also have to mention our other favorites: Emily, Summer, and Tom. Each of them contributes to the welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere that makes Darby’s a gem in...
Read moreI have always enjoyed coming to Darby Road and have had great experiences in the past, but my visit yesterday was deeply upsetting and unfortunately left me feeling unwelcome. I arrived sober and sat at the bar with a couple of friends, expecting the same good service I’ve always received. However, after being seated for about 20 minutes without anyone taking our order, I flagged down a female bartender whom I hadn’t seen before. I politely asked for an IPA, and she responded with "sure thing" before walking away.
I waited for about five minutes, but instead of receiving my drink, a manager or bounce approached me and my friend, telling us we needed to leave. His reason? He claimed we were causing a disturbance and making people uncomfortable. This accusation was not only false but also offensive. We were completely sober, having a quiet conversation among ourselves, and did nothing that could have warranted this treatment.
I’m left with the unfortunate impression that my friends and I were targeted for no reason other than our presence, which felt discriminatory. This experience is unforgivable and has seriously changed my perception of Darby Road. It’s disappointing to feel as though we were treated differently based on something other than our behavior, and I sincerely hope the management addresses this issue...
Read moreDarby Road. Where do I start. The food itself it delicious, but not worth the wait. If you come here for dinner which a lot of people do, it is jam packed. I was told 15-20 minute wait, which turned into 50+ minute wait. The reason we weren’t able to be seated… they don’t get the diners out once they are finished. A group had payed 30 minutes ago, and wouldn’t leave. Guess what, the staff didn’t do anything. We even had a reservation for my birthday and this was what I had to deal with. In the end, unless you were to put your name in 60 minutes in advance, just don’t go. So if you were even able to get seated after 40 minutes, you still be waiting another 45-60 for your food. The service is just really slow in general and don’t recommend. And despite waiting an hour to get seated, which didn’t even happen, they did nothing to compensate for your wait. No free drink or meal or anything. I don’t plan on going back anytime soon, so I hope they think it was worth it,...
