Market Street is hidden away from the main road (Pima) but it makes it a little quieter. I really like the modern industrial look of the buildings and how everything is very walkable, but I wish there were more interesting shops. Highlights for me are the bike shop (reasonably priced repairs), the Safeway if you need to pick up some quick groceries because it's on the smaller side, and a few of the restaurants. If you have kids look for the little park behind Grimaldi's. There is a large grassy area for the kids and dogs and a cool water and sand feature in the summer. Also there are tons of easy paved trails through the neighborhood if you want to take a bike ride or chase your kids...
Read moreThis plaza is very neat and aesthetically pleasing. While it is a bit of a drive, I do enjoy coming here for Kim at Par Exsalonce Salon, .and I might swing by the Safeway if I'm in the area. It's very close to the Pinnacle Peak Park and Gateway Trailhead parks.. It's pretty easy to spot off the main road. Sometimes, I turn one street early (no traffic lights, just a street sign), but it's the street with the traffic lights. There's two rows of diagonal parking spaces in the first area (where the salon is); lot of cars backing in and out sometimes... but as long as you take it slow, you should be fine. Read moreThe people who frequent this shopping center seem to have a really difficult time driving. In my short visit there today, 4 vehicles almost hit me on my way out.
I love the rust motif; something about rust really works, especially refreshing when normally in a sea of stucco buildings circa 1990s. My roommate put it nicely "This is what all the areas in Arizona should look like" - I'm certain this will make some architect or planner happy to hear.
