Sadly, after a few years, it’s time for me to move on to another place. The only way to get an appointment or any info is to call (no website or text available). However, the last few calls, I can only say a sentence before the stylist abruptly hangs up.

For example: “Hello, do you have any coloring appointments available ?” “Sorry, no, I work by myself” hangs up

A few months later: “Hello, do you have a hair cutting appointment this week?” “Sorry, no, we’re completely booked. I work by myself” hangs up

No opportunity to ask for other availabilities or anything (I’m pretty flexible with my schedule but based on my interactions, I have not been able to inquire about alternative times). This has happened at least 4 times so it’s a miracle if you can get an appointment before getting hung up on. Also, before, the weekends were walk ins only but once I walked in, and was told to set up an appointment…

When I do have an appointment, there’s also no confirmation asked either before my session starts. I understand the hair stylist works on her own, but I’ve been to many small business salons with only 1 stylist and never had this many issues with setting up appointments or feel like the stylist is trying to get me off the phone as soon as possible so she can continue working on current customer (from the times I was able to cut my hair here, this seems to be the case!). After trying multiple hair salons this is the place I settled on - I’ve been going here for 5 years and always had a good experience. The only challenge is finding an appointment. There’s no system to send you appointment confirmation or reminder sent. It’s a mom and pop type shop so don’t expect high standards. If you miss your appointment for any reason, it’s a challenge. Grace is getting real busy in recent months.

She always does a good job on my hair whether it’s a haircut or a blow-dry, styling for an occasion. She’s very friendly and gives a smooth customer experience, if she is available to sit you in. I always make an appointment and go but sometimes still need to wait for upto 20-25minutes as she is the only person working most of the time. There is one other person but they aren’t full time. I didn’t try their services but a family member did and they liked her service too.

I had appointment with Grace as I read good reviews for her. I explained her that I need short haircut. She said It will not look good on me and will be high maintenance and started telling me how she had short haircut and how difficult it was for her to maintain. I still told her that I can maintain it but she insisted and said let's do medium cut first and then if you don't like it, we can do short. She did a blunder with my cut so I told her pls give me the cut I wanted. She said she will notstand here all day and keep giving me cuts (so rude and mean as she said she will change it if I didn't like it), secondly the cut I wanted couldn't be done now as she cut my hair short from the front. She didn't blend the layers at all. I asked her three times to blend it but she just couldn't do it. I think blending the layers is the basic and essential part of a haircut.
