Update 2/16/22: I had to provide an update because so much has changed since my initial review. For starters, my girls are now 8 and 5 lol. This review was pre-pandemic, and that is what I am really wanting to update.
They paused all services at the start of the pandemic like everything else did. When they reopened they had very strict cleaning and health protocols. They were easy to follow because those were the health protocols they always had! Professor Bravo has always been very serious about maintaining a safe and clean environment.
We have manage to train all this time during the pandemic without a single breakout - if that isn't enough to convince you about the care Lotus takes to keep us all safe then I invite you to show up and see the cleaning and disinfecting protocols. Then remember, these were our protocols before anyone ever heard of Covid-19!!
I love that the membership at the dojo has exploded during this time and it is full of really amazing people. I know some of our fellow members have said they left their dojos and joined Lotus because of the care and intention around creating a welcoming family environment. Incredible workout, high quality training, real family atmosphere. Love taking my 5yo and 2.5yo daughters to...
Read moreI'm posting this review from a new account because my original post does not seem to be visible. If you see this twice, I'm not trying to spam a 5-star - though Lotus is worthy of it. We had been looking for something physical and martial arts related to get involved with as the pandemic restrictions start to lift, and I've had some not so great BJJ experiences in the past so I was a little wary. That being said, we feel incredibly privileged to be able to train at Lotus. So welcoming! Such great instruction - not only from Professor but the more experience students as well. It's a great workout with many life lessons to be had. Jiu Jitsu is a great sport and great self defense. It epitomizes the "productive struggle" that is good learning, and Professor has established a culture in which students at every level feel safe to engage, make mistakes, and continue to learn with joy. I can only give you my highest recommendation to...
