The service was excellent the ladies were all very nice. It especially surprised me when the cook came out to introduce herself and check on our dining experience, which I know is common throughout Asia. It was nice to see this in America because I actually grew up in Asia(Japan) until I was 18 and I am used to seeing this kind of service. I ordered the number one combo with the Caribbean sauce spice level four of six. The sauce was amazing and even ordering a 4/6 spice was still not extreme heat 🥵 I could’ve easily tolerated the 6 I couldn’t get enough of the Caribbean sauce! This was my first experience eating crawdads and I just wasn’t a fan, it’s a matter of personal preference, not a matter of the cooking or the flavor because that part was tasty. The shrimp were large with heads and still in the shell, not deveined. They were a bit overcooked as well, making them A bit too firm and stringy. However, even with this the flavor was still excellent 🤩 I just prefer my shrimp to be deveined Or I feel like it’s not clean but this is also a matter of personal preference not a negative for the restaurant. We got the fried Boudin balls and they were tasty but they did fall apart quite easily. I think she could correct this by using a little bit more binder in her mixture and they would be perfect. The flavor was still amazing she is definitely not lacking in seasoning!! 🤤😁 this was my older son‘s first time having a seafood boil in a dining out setting. usually I do them at home. I would recommend this restaurant to other people as it is way more affordable than most of the other ones and the ladies are so kind attentive and welcoming. We fed four people here for 140 bucks we went to another one in the international district in Seattle recently and we paid 180 to feed two people! major price difference for the better....
Read moreCame here hungry because we had their oxtail hotpot before and it was delicious, but this time, we were disappointed. Maybe we should have ordered the hotpot or seafood boiled but we wanted to try something else so that’s what we did.
1st order was the garlic chicken wings, that one was great. it was the best out of everything. Love the heavy garlic taste!
Second order was special pork chop ( pork chop, sugar cane shrimp, egg meat loaf and egg fried), food came out nothing like it was described on the menu. We were given 2 shrimps instead of sugarcane shrimp (chả tôm), but the shrimp tasted like gum, probably from being microwave for too long, egg meat loaf has the weirdest flavor and very off, it tasted like they put everything in a blender then blend it…..pork chop tasted ok.
Last order was anchovy sauce with vermicelli and roasted pork. There was NO roasted pork to be found in this bowl, it was regular pork belly boiled. I specifically asked the server if this is bún mắm (Vietnamese gumbo) prior to ordering to confirm and they said yes, but this is no where near what bún mắm is. I gave up eating because it was so bland and literally 2/3 of the order was false advertising.
Poor my husband, he was so hungry, and had most of the pork chop which was the only thing that was eat-able on the plate but ended up having stomach issues later that night. The order came out to be $55+. This was not worth it, we...
Read moreI was really excited reading the menu, especially for the Vietnamese dishes, although not as much for the seafood boil.
My family ordered a beef broth hot pot, crab fried rice, snails in salted duck egg yolk, lotus root salad, and my husband had a vermicelli bowl.
The snails were expensive but sadly lacked flavor. I tried the salted egg yolk sauce on its own, and it was surprisingly bland, which was disappointing. Unfortunately, this trend continued with most of the dishes, as the fried rice and salad were both on the bland side as well.
The beef broth hot pot was the standout of the meal in terms of flavor.
While the broth itself was rich and flavorful, the accompanying ingredients were underwhelming. It included some beef, tongue, taro chunks, tendons, egg noodles, and chrysanthemum greens. The dipping sauce was a creamy fermented tofu sauce, which was delicious on its own but didn't complement the hot pot at all. Each component was fine on its own, but together, they didn't come together as I'd hoped.
I absolutely love hot pot, but this version just wasn't to my taste, and I didn't enjoy it as much as I thought I would.
Unfortunately, the overall experience didn't live up to my expectations, and it's not a place I'd be eager...
