My business ratings are mostly short and sweet but to the point. When this company popped up on my Google Map icon this evening, I knew this might take a minute . hmm..... I swung into this shop today, it was my type of skate shop, not all fancy and new, an older building but cleaned up, laid out nicely and that true cool skate shop vibe (first plus)! The young guy behind the counter asked me what he could help me with and I told him I was there for skateboard wheels, through the array of Wheels on display, I immediately eyed the only two sets that I would put on a long board. They had them both ? Wow! (2nd plus)! (They also have a nice selection of snowboards and accessories alike). But before I could make a decision as to which one to look at first, he said," I have a suggestion for a wheel and I think you may like it". Even though I bought my first skateboard 44 years ago, Im always open to the suggestion of the guy behind the counter ! He pulled one of the wheels out and at first glance it looked like a very nice Wheel, he handed it to me, as soon as I got it in my hand I thought , hmm I don't even want to know the price of these. They were extremely grippy, decent cores, catchy white and black lettering and sporting my favorite hand gesture ,the ever famous "hang loose". The more that I'm feeling this wheel in my hand the more I'm liking it, the more that I'm not even caring how pricey they are, then he hits me with the price which is like $26 less than what I was planning on spending on wheels that day. SWEET!!!! I need bushings for my trucks, he sets me up and immediately starts swapping out the bushings,(3rd plus)! I was just going to do it when I got home. A younger, new skater to the sport walks in,he has never owned a board, he's got lots of questions . Michael , behind the counter helps out with all of his questions with professionalism and assertiveness, I'm impressed! (4th plus). He throws out some product names to the young guy and I suddenly started to realize just how old I am. finaly!!!! something wasn't a Plus!! Lol ! When he suggested Powell Peralta, I starting counting Back the Years, Stacy Peralta was one of my Idols of a sport that just came on so strong in the mid to late seventies. George and Stacy Joined Forces in 78 I believe and was one of the most successful skating companies in the world. The Bones Brigade was one of the most competitive teams in skateboarding at the time! Thats the feeling the shop emits, in the way that people are going about taking care of everybody's business, I was just totally impressed! The shop is close to 45 miles out of my way but I was down that way and I stopped in and I'm glad I did. I will go 45 miles out of my way just to go back . If they offer you up a few stickers, throw some cash in the jar on the right side of the back counter, it's for charity or some type of cause. I only had 13 bucks in loose cash on me, but it all went in the jar. This was an A+ five star treatment at a small business that I wish I could go in and support everyday! Shops like this are slowly disappearing, its so nice to walk into one like this and get true small business treatment! Much thanks goes to Michael and...
Read more1st of all , did not have a clue going in that a shop existed like this one and right in seattle , pretty handy hey Find out pretty much the owner is somehow renowned, and connected his input is apparently evident in skating circles and board designs , super chill He even demoed some boards from his own collection standing there by the counter We left with far more confidence in what to think about for quick skates or long board get arounds Racks of fully setup landyachtz, carver, anon, and like more setup in this center display, back wall carried all these varied local and east coast + cally offerings , you know the China versions were so techno perfect it startled us Counter ran from one end to other , loaded up with forged and cast trucks , wedges, bearings that never seen even , so cool Only downside was the short stock of pads and all that Kinda like a retail skate haven , and the know how the owner offers...
Read moreBe weary of ordering online and using any coupons with them. They had a coupon proudly displayed in Google Shopping, so I used it to pick up a new board for the season and 30 min later they cancelled my order because "the deal was too good and for team riders only". There are tons of other online shops to order from that A) honor the prices they sell things to their customers for B) have better deals. No reason to shop with this shady place.
Edit: their response doesn’t contradict anything I said. They advertised a coupon on Google, which I used, then they cancelled my order for using it. Bait and switch. Their efforts to blame me, the customer, for their “mistake” should tell you what you need to know.
Also, if they “don’t know” how the coupon ended up on Google, then why would you ever want to give your credit card info to them? Sketchy all around and there are too many good shops to deal...
