I tried coming here once with friends during the dinner hour and we put our name on the waitlist inside after being told it would be about an hour wait. After coming back after an hour, we checked in to see where we were at on the list. We asked the staff how long it would be, and they told us our name wasn't there even though we pointed it out at the front tablet. They said we'd need to put our name back on the list and wait another hour. Our name seemed to be on the yelp waitlist at the front door, but not on their personal tablet when we asked. We are students and had our bags after coming from class, so we assumed maybe they do not like students coming, even though we came for the student discount. This was very disheartening, so we just left. A couple months later, I came back with one friend and had no problem getting in. After waiting to try this place, it honestly was just okay. Being able to get the student size upgrade was nice, but the portion size still did not feel worth it for the price. The soup was bland and did not have very much of the additional ingredients in the soup. The table spice made it better though. I get that this place is more upscale being in UVill.. but really, it was not worth it. As a student who likes ramen, there are other places closer to the university that are better and actually want to serve students. If you're a student, save your dignity and money and try...
Read moreI'm a huge fan of the other location in Belleveue, so I was excited to try this one out. The food good, the service was good. The hostess did something that really rubbed me the wrong way.
It was a busy day, understandable and there was quite a wait, which I was totally fine with. However there was a couple a few places back in line who were not okay with how long it was taking. They came up to the front to complain about how long the wait was. I felt bad for the girl at the front who had to deal with these rude impatient people. But a few more minutes pass and she seats this rude couple. The couple that showed up after I did. After that happened I went up and asked what that wait was going to be, thinking that perhaps multiple tables had opened up and she was ready to seat multiple parties, but she told me that it would be another 10 to 15 minutes.
I'm a patient person, and I honestly didn't mind waiting another 10 to 15 minutes to be seated if it was just that, but knowing that they're willing to give special treatment to those who complain is just infuriating. It really killed the mood of the whole meal for me. People need to learn to behave themselves, and rewarding people for being rude and impatient both encourages the individual to continue that behavior and also shows other people that being a selfish entitled person will get you special treatment. It really put me...
Read moreAs a visitor to Seattle, my experience at this restaurant was particularly disappointing. Despite having plenty of available seats, the staff initially told our party of six that they couldn't accommodate us at a single table. They suggested we sit at two separate tables until a larger space became available, which we reluctantly agreed to. However, when a larger table finally opened up, they still denied us the opportunity to move.
To make matters worse, when the time came to pay the bill, we were slapped with an automatic 18% gratuity charge due to our party size, which felt unjustified given the subpar service we received throughout the evening. This restaurant's inability to manage reservations and their decision to impose an automatic gratuity left a sour taste in my mouth as a visitor to Seattle. I won't be recommending or returning to this establishment anytime soon.
In addition to the disappointing service, the food also left much to be desired. We ordered karange, but it was far from great; the taste and quality were underwhelming. The ramen we ordered was also a letdown, falling short of our expectations and only reaching a level of decent at best. The overall dining experience, including both the service and the food, was far from what we had hoped for. This restaurant certainly did not live up to...
