My uber-reliable Timex Expedition's backlight was starting to dim and I wanted a new battery before the old battery completely ran out of juice. So, to support local a local business, I gave Russell's a try. It was going to be $20 for a battery change, and "a few days". Almost a week later, after calling the store and getting no response, I showed up at their door, hoping the new battery was installed. The watch was ready but returned to me with the bottom left button not responding (there are four buttons), the button was stuck inside the housing. The store-guy asked me if "I knew how all the buttons worked". Ahem... yes. I was told that the watch needed to go back to the repair guy. Again, a few more days, no response to my phone call asking if the watch was ready. Getting on for two weeks, I went there today, the bottom left button was fixed, but now the top left button was stuck inside the housing. Store-guy said "the jeweler said the buttons were sticky, sometimes they work, sometimes they don't" This was not the case when I dropped off the watch, and if they were stuck, why not call and say it'll be a few more bucks to clean out the buttons? I was left speechless at this point, then store-guy developed a condescending tone with a sprinkling of aggression, informing me that he was just the messenger, and he could give it back to the jeweler and it would be a few more days. This soap opera had already going on for two weeks, so I declined and went to leave, and saying "maybe I'll take it to try Fred Meyer or something". At this point store-guy couldn't control his emotions. "I don't care where you take it, just so you know there's a new battery in that watch, and the jeweler isn't charging you for it" Great, I thought... a battery in a watch that was made inoperable by the jeweler, Lucky me. I wouldn't have posted this negative review if there was some sort effort to make things right. I've worked in retail, and if I'd acted like store-guy acted, I would've been fired. Bottom line: $20 that I didn't have to part with after a two weeks wait for a watch repair, watch returned to me in an inoperable state. The button that doesn't work is the one used to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWhere do I begin to even explain how great this place is?!? It all started about five years ago and on my 1st wedding anniversary and I noticed my diamond was loose while out shopping, so I walked in to see if they could tighten up my stone without leaving overnight and Ron fixed it right there on the spot at no charge as well as cleaned my rings as an aniversay gift! š Between then and now he fixed a couple bracelets and smaller things beautifully but most recently I went in to have a eternity ring fixed, Patty and Ron were helping me come up with a solution... with in a week Ron ended up making me a custom ring that was EVERYTHING I had been wanting for a long time and at very fair price! When I picked it up it was even better than I had hoped so much so I just had to give Ron a hug of appreciation!! They are fast, fair, friendly, and fantastic!! I could go on with more stories of their kindness and professionalism, but Iām sure this is long enough... Hehe!! Thank you for everything, Ron and Patty! You guys are...
