I've been a member here for about a year and a half. I'd had some intro sessions at other Crossfit gyms, but nothing "stuck" until I came here.
I wasn't new to lifting or fitness when I joined, and so have been surprised that I've gotten so much stronger and more athletic. It's completely changed my goals -- I eat healthier, sleep more, and overall just feel better. And I don't feel pressure to lift a certain amount or get a particular time...the community here all supports you 100% wherever you're at. It's also a place where I can show up as my goofy, nerdy self and feel accepted.
But my favorite part are the owners. Angie and Greg are very knowledgeable, encouraging, and just plain fun.I think that's what I look forward to most each day, knowing that if I just show up, I'm going to have fun with people I've grown to really care about.
And during this time where gyms are closed, most of the friends I've made at the gym have continued to stay in touch through Facebook, Instagram, and Zoom workouts/mobility sessions that are exactly what I need in order to have a bit of fun and normalcy in my life.

During COVID, they've been innovating hard. They offer equipment rentals, coach-led Zoom calls, socially distanced outdoors workouts, group-led online classes, daily workout videos to complete on your own time, and a library of recordings to help you perfect your form at home. Plus they still offer one-person classes according to state guidelines. The whole gym is as squeaky clean as a gym in the SoDo District can possibly be. It's a COVID-safe, challenging, supportive, encouraging environment that makes me want to go back several times a week just to feel happy. I've gained a lot of muscle and lost a lot of inches! Read moreI’ve had a truly positive experience with SODO Fitness Mechanics—from the initial contact all the way through the workouts. The level of training and attention to detail is top-notch. Classes are fun, challenging, and thoughtfully structured.
What really stands out is the welcoming, inclusive community—it’s a space that’s approachable for all ages and fitness levels. As someone who’s not in peak shape, I’ve felt completely supported and met right where I’m at. The communication between coaches is outstanding.
