I’ve never been the type to write reviews, but being treated by Megan is hands-down one of the top five most life-changing decisions I’ve ever made for myself.

To paint the picture: imagine putting the best knives in the hands of a three-Michelin-star chef—you’re going to have a world-class experience. Now, full disclosure, I’ve never dined at a three-star restaurant, but I imagine that kind of magic is exactly what happened to me at Maintenance Bar.

For context, I’ve struggled with cystic acne from puberty until about 27. We’re talking about painful, disfiguring acne that left me sleeping with a towel over my pillow to catch the blood from cysts bursting in the night. I went through two full rounds of Accutane. It helped with oil control, and though the acne faded, after a decade of struggling and mismanagement, my skin- especially my cheeks - were deeply scared and damaged. I used humor and self-deprecation as a shield, even joking that I made Danny Trejo look like a skincare model.

I had seen a 3 dermatologists but never felt confident enough to move forward with treatment. Then a friend introduced me to Megan and told me about the amazing results that Megan gave her. I was hesitant; as a man, going to a med spa didn’t exactly feel like “my thing” But my mom encouraged me to keep an open mind, then joking told me to “man up”, so I booked a consult.

In 35 years, I’ve never felt more at ease with a medical professional. Megan’s warmth, expertise, and presence were immediately disarming. I knew right then: this was the person I trusted with my face. When it comes to corrective skin treatments, you don’t just need skill—you need an artist. Someone with the vision to know what needs to be done and the hands to make it happen.

I gave her full freedom - “I’m here for results,” I told her. We did three treatments in a single session:

First was Virtue RF microneedling. After about 20 minutes of numbing, I barely felt anything—maybe six to eight moments of mild discomfort lasting seconds.

Then came the Tetra CO2 laser, which Megan described as the Rolls-Royce of lasers. We started with the DEKA pulse to address deep acne scarring, followed by the CoolPeel pulse to refine the surface and tackle fine lines.

Yes, I was red and swollen—but for less time than expected. Within four days, my skin tone was nearly back to normal, with a rough sandpaper texture that faded quickly. Megan stayed in touch the entire time, checking in, giving me specific aftercare instructions, and genuinely caring about my recovery.

And now - the part that still feels surreal - six weeks later, I looked in the mirror and saw a transformation I never thought possible. My skin was smoother, healthier, radiant. I was stunned. I sent my before-and-after photos to my mom, my sister, my fiancée, and half my friends. I don’t even post on Instagram much, but I had to share this.

I’ve gone to alot of injectors over the years and my experience with Megan has been top notch. Before my Botox/dysport wouldn’t last very long and now I can go between 4-5 months! I had lip filler that had migrated from previous injectors (not Megan) and she dissolved mine and refilled them and now they are the best shape they have ever been.

Megan also cares about her clients and not having them over do it. She makes sure enough time has passed before any more injecting so we are getting the best results without over injecting which can cause migration. While others I’ve been to will do whatever whenever which has really showed that Megan values her clients well being over profit.

Other than her technical skills and care Megan is a super sweet and welcoming person. We’ve become fast friends and I will not be going to anyone else here on out. Do yourself a favor and book with her instead of a med spa because supporting someone on their own personal venture is always better.

I can’t say enough about my results from Sofwave! About 6 months ago I had a lower facelift but unfortunately the results were just subtle at best. I still had jowls!
