H.A.L.O.'s Rescued Treasures Thriftique — Local services in Sebastian

This thrift store benefits H.A.L.O No Kill Recue which operates a shelter. H.A.L.O. stands for helping animals live and overcome. In 2006 they became the first no kill shelter in Indian River County and since that time over 20,000 pets have been saved.

In 2015 H.A.L.O. opened H.A.L.O.'s Rescued Treasures with all proceeds going to help the animals. This thrift store has several rooms of gently used home goods, toys, clothing, accessories, holiday decorations, linens, pet supplies, and more. Everything I saw was well priced and additional sales during my visit offered an extra 20 percent off handbags and wallets and 20 percent of pants, shorts, and skirts. A sign requesting people to remain dressed in the clothing room cracked me up. Know you are on camera so keep those clothes on. It is not a dressing room. LOL

Went to donate kennels and a dog wheel chair etc.( not human items) to HALO and we didn't know if we could drop them there or we had to take them to other facility (we have donated kennels in the past but we haven't lived there in a few years didn't know if location changed for donations). My husband went inside to find out and they judged him as soon as he walked in the door by the way he looked treated him horribly and even made a rude comment . It took me coming inside for them to even listen to what we were trying to do. That is when they finally told us to go to the other facility by the Walmart. But when he told me what they did I refused to donate to them and found another facility that were kind and even sympathetic to the fact we just lost 2 dogs bestfriends 5 months apart . My husband and I drove over an hour from our home just to donate to HALO because they are a no kill shelter but I will NEVER donate here again. You can thank those 2 ladies working...
