Took my little one with the family and wanted to get him a wristband so he could ride multiple rides and we would get the best bang for our buck. The lady in the ticket booth was extremely rude after she realized I was wanting a wristband for him. She had already put a wristband on me and then proceeded to tell me (in very poor English, so it was very hard to understand her), that I needed to show her how tall he was. When I asked how I was supposed to do that she just kept repeating that I needed to show her how tall he was. It wasn’t until my husband turned around to see that there was a board behind us with height measurements. We put our son up to the board and he was just under the 36in mark. The ticket booth lady shakes her finger at me and smirks…. When I tell her that I want to just get some tickets instead of wristbands she shakes her finger at me again and tells me I can’t exchange my wristband. I understand that they can’t do refunds but the entire conversation on her end was extremely negative. People come to the fair to have a good experience with their loved ones, not to be treated poorly because of miscommunication. Even the lady selling admission tickets had a poor demeanor. I hope in the future the fair will hire people who can at least keep a smile on their face and converse with a friendly attitude. I’m not sure I will go back to the Guadalupe fair. Went to the rodeo and didn’t even have a place to sit it was so packed stood up the whole time. The games were expensive $5 for three balls and every time I had to keep paying to play again.
