I cannot stress enough, please keep documentation of everything!!! Even if you think it’s silly or unnecessary. Take photos and videos of the apartment showing how you left it before you move out! I lived here for about 2 years and I loved it up until it was time for me to move out. I provided the leasing office with a copy of my military orders well in advance, roughly 80-90 days before moving. When it came time for me to start packing up, the leasing office sent me my last bill, and was adamant in trying to make me pay for a month’s worth of rent and further accusing me of not providing them with a copy of my orders within their 60 day notice requirement. I provided them with a copy of the email that was sent with my orders attached. Turns out the manager that had me send them to her never updated my file showing that I gave notice. This rubbed me the wrong way as no one offered to apologize for the miscommunication on their part. From that point on, I started keeping documentation of everything…screenshotting any remaining payments, communication and taking photos/videos. About 3 months after I moved, I received an email from their finance office stating that I owed Citadel at Lookout more money and if I didn’t pay they would send it to a collection agency. They also told me that the leasing office had been emailing and calling me and could not reach me. My phone & email had not changed. I never received not one email, call or voicemail from them. Come to find out, the leasing office AGAIN did not update that I gave notice within their 60 day window requirement AND they had documented that I did not move out on the day that I actually moved out on, charging me extra fees for that. I had to provide pictures and videos with the timestamp to show when I left AND I had to show further proof that I no longer was even living in the US on the date that they put down as my move out date. Again, no apologies were given. I found it crazy how all these extra charges began popping up AFTER I moved out. In the end, I did have to pay to replace the carpet in my bedroom because of normal wear and tear, which was fine. But everything else left a bad taste in my mouth because if I had not kept proof of everything, I would’ve had to pay a $3,000+ bill. So PLEASE document everything. Not even just for this apartment complex...
Read moreAs stated in previous reviews you must document everything because they are out to get every single $$ out of you. I recently moved out and broke my lease for a series of reasons and nowhere in my lease is there documented the need to hire a cleaning crew or pay nearly $300 in cleaning fees. I left my apartment in near perfect condition (quite frankly cleaner than when i moved in 3 years ago) I've called numerous times about this and get shoved to the side by the manager saying its a another department who handle this. I discussed with this department the charges and they said they would file a dispute (with the manager i originally talked to) but im not convinced they ever did. Very disappointed in the lack of care by this new management. If they had bothered to read my documented walk through of my unit when i first moved in then they would see these charges are completely uncalled for. Besides that there have been multiple instances i felt unsafe. Multiple cars broken into and an instance of gunshots right outside. People going to the pool at 4am screaming and keeping me up for hours on end. No security ever readily available. I brought up several concerns as a single woman living there and was never emailed back. Also the area was unsanitary. Dog poop everywhere and was told that there were going to be routine cleaning of the hallways when i moved in. I think it was cleaned once in the 3 years i lived there. Payed for a trash service just for a mess to be left in the hallways from spills. If you like being overcharged for services that were never met then pick greystar. Great job serving your community 👎🏻 I'll include pictures that i took upon move out of the so called cleaning that...
Read moreLived here for almost 4 years while the community was nice for the most part it was such a disappointment dealing with the cleanliness. The dog park was ALWAYS filthy and this was consistently an issue. There is no enforcement to pick up after your pet so of course nobody does. It got so bad to the point where I needed to bring shampoo, gloves and a towel if I wanted to let my dogs use the dog park. The upkeep in the dog wash was poor as well. People would wash their dog and leave it filthy and nobody seemed to care. I had an apartment with a yard that always got skipped for maintenance. I ended up getting a weed eater to trim the yard myself after complaining for weeks and ended up having to buy grass patches myself which were not cheap because sections or my yard were just patches or dirt. The dog park as well has big patches of dirt so when it rains good luck. I rarely had any issues with my apartment itself but all this to say if you have a dog this was my biggest issue with...
