Had a very bad experience at the 7617 N Loop 1604 E, Live Oak, TX location tonight. We’ve been going to this location since it opened and we’re satisfied, but something has changed. Dad is 87 so we trust only a select few providers for the few times we do takeout. Tonight I ordered 3 dinners including 2 chicken nuggets for Dad and my wife. There is scheduled local construction going on right tonight so getting there and home was twice the distance and effort. To save time and effort I placed an order online through the listing in Google; the pickup time indicated was 7:21. I arrived as 7:30 and no food. They hadn’t even started the order, and have the usual sorry we have been busy, with only one table occupied. So I wait…I received 2 bags, and checked them quickly and went home. I open things up to serve Dad and the chicken nuggets are over done, dry as cardboard and visibly so. I did further and the sweet potato fries are in the same condition—over fried. I call the location, twice. Apparently they are having some phone issues. I get the manager on the phone and explain. “We’ll, we can remake them…” was his only effort. At this point I have zero trust in them preparing food for 87 year old dad and start making something for him here at home. So, I asked for a refund and toss both bags in the garbage. The manager tells me that the only way he can do anything’s is either if I come back down or give him all my credit card information over the phone, including the security code. I immediately say NO. “We’ll that’s what corporate says we have to have Sir” was his last response. So I told him that he should inform corporate that you were unable to satisfy the customer and we will be disputing the entire charge. I fail to see what the issue is at this location, their management for time and quality but something has clearly changed and it’s not working. Not sure how things will go moving forward but for right now, we won’t be eating any of their food until things get straightened out. The bill tonight was over $30 and we had to cook our own food at home and lathe loss of time and travel. If you do take out from this location, I recommend opening everything to make sure it’s appropriate BEFORE you leave. I want my money back Hat Creek so I’m disputing the charges and sending photos in the case. Not going back out on the road to waste more time and gas on this. Please, look into this location, they clearly need help.

Update: I wanted to tell you about one of your managers at the Live Oak, Texas location. Ms. Arnesia (or Amesia if I spelled it wrong). My family and I live about 20 miles from this location. You don't have many locations where I live, but the food quality to me is worth the drive. However, this time we ordered out of convivence. We ordered food via a food delivery app (DoorDash) and was devastated when we received EMPTY bags at our front door. Over a $100 food order and it was gone. I drove to this location with the bags in hand, and when I asked to speak to the Manger, I met Ms. Arnesia. She explained how I was the 3rd customer that had happened too that day and she had already reported the driver. She helped me to do the same. She was working deliveries and ensured us the orders were included and sealed. She was so sorry it had happened to me and my family. She asked us to not eat any of the remaining items for our safety. She reprocessed the entire order including the drinks and shakes. I'm sure being the third person with that issue that day during her shift, should have allowed for her to at the very least have some aggravation. She never spoke, displayed, or seem to have any negative reaction at all in correcting this situation. When I arrived, I was furious, and I left feeling so care for and appreciated and safe. After meeting Ms. Arnesia, I won't be going anywhere else for my American Burger meals if she is there. She has added to your quality and delicious food with her exceptional customer service. I can't thank her enough for saving our weekend and keeping us in good spirits after all that had happened. People make time to file complaints so easily but fail to praise the people who stand out and go above and beyond. I made time for Ms. Arnesia today. I hope your company makes the time and effort to let her know and reward her accordingly. (May 2025)

Our Review for The Hat Greek Restaurant

We recently visited The Hat Greek Restaurant, and unfortunately, our experience was quite disappointing. While the concept of Greek fast food is appealing, the execution here leaves much to be desired.

Firstly, the cleanliness of the place was subpar. The trash cans were overflowing, and there was trash piling up in several areas. It's off-putting and certainly not the environment you'd expect when dining out. Additionally, the door handles and windows were noticeably dirty, leaving us feeling the need to disinfect our hands immediately after touching them. Cleanliness is fundamental to any dining experience, and The Hat Greek Restaurant needs significant improvement in this area.

The food itself was another letdown. Despite the high prices, the quality of the food was reminiscent of low-quality fast food. The dishes were overly salted, particularly the fried pickles, which we would not recommend. Additionally, the fries were mushy and far from the crispy texture you'd expect. Given the cost, we anticipated a better culinary experience.

Even though the restaurant owner assures in their replies that they love their customers and will better their services, they absolutely do not. It's disappointing to see promises of improvement that aren't followed through.

On a more positive note, the restaurant does have an outdoor playground, which could be a draw for families with young children. The kids might enjoy the play area, but it's hardly enough to make up for the other shortcomings.

In conclusion, unless you have children who would benefit from the playground, we'd advise looking elsewhere for a more pleasant dining experience. The Hat Greek Restaurant has potential, but significant improvements are needed in cleanliness, food quality, and...

We went to eat with some friends here for the first time and we're very disappointed with our first experience. We arrived at 7:11pm and we're in a very long line that didn't seem to move. We do understand busy places and being short staffed, but the line was barely moving. As soon as we reached the front of the line. The one and only cashier said he needed to leave and would be right back. Once again we said ok no worries, being the patient people we are. He proceeded to go help a customer to search for a chanel on the T.V. we waited for him to return to take our order for about 20 mintues more. He never came back, the line was growing behind us. No one was taking our order. The other half of our party was already seated. Finally we asked another worker, from the back making burgers to help us. She came, we asked how long it would be for two milkshakes to be made since we saw that everyone's food was taking a long time to come out and didn't want to hold up our party. She stated that for two shakes alone it would be at least 45 mins. This is unacceptable time for just milkshakes . The simple fact that the line cashier prioritized the T.V. over the ordering line is absurd. We ended up not ordering anything as we would not have got it in a timely manner. At the time we walked away from the line we joined at 7:11pm it was 7:57pm...just sad as I was looking forward to trying the food or at very least the milkshakes. Do better. Also the kids shake that my friends got came with a lid that didn't fit and was attached with a rubberband.

Somewhat disappointed by this place. We had heard good things so popped in for lunch today. It was slammed with one cashier. It look us 15 minutes to get through the line just to order which was no biggie, it just gave us more time to waiver back & forth on what we wanted to try first 🙂 I really appreciated that they offer gluten free, vegetarian, skinny and paleo options. Also that they serve beers (tapped and canned) and that canned beer is only $1 with purchase of an entree. They have an attached outdoor playground for the kids which is great for families and TV on the indoor/outdoor patio. I did not expect a 40 minute wait for our food but given the popularity of this place and the very real possibility that they are facing a staffing shortage we just rolled with it. We relaxed in the indoor/covered patio and watched a dark storm cell approach. Then we received our food. I will tell you straight up that it was not worth what we paid for it. The burgers were okay, don't get me wrong, but the tater tots were greasy mush. Seriously, they oozed grease. I do not complain at restaurants, we all know how that can play out. Plus they had already missed our appetizer order of fried pickles and told us it would take 20-30 minutes to right that wrong. No thanks. Overall they made a lukewarm first impression and I don't feel like I will give it another try anytime soon.
