1-Hi, I am a volunteer for this place. I have been there before COVID. There are many things said about this place and I am only revealing truth. Remember this is a small store, not big like Goodwill. Well, it did have many issues of concern. They had lost staff, due to COVID, etc, and only had the two guys working there, with two people who were not used to managing the shop but took over it. Now, I don't agree with alot of things I have heard from both customers and staffing. But I believe God allowed to be there to help. stayed and did what I could. I cleaned and organized the back and made sure the right quality was coming out, .We would get over loaded and had to pass what we couldn't keep. So, I started to see good changes as well as parts of management. I don't agree with alot of pricing, but there is some reasonable deals/ prices. I stay for the customers, so they get decent items...but if people would stop judging and start praying, prayer changes things. The store for whatever purpose is there, and God will hold accountable the wrong that made be done, . But being a volunteer, don't judge until you at least say a prayer. I didn't stay around for the management, I stayed there to help the guys cause otherwise the store would not function and that would mess them up. I don't know when I will quit but God don't have me there for that reason, maybe I am there because I care about people and not judging anyone. I care about the customers and what they put their money to. I can only pray for God to change the heart, maybe that will change the paper and coin. In the meantime, we appreciate what is brought in, and please at least try to be more forgiving. Peace be to all,,,thank you for reading. Stay prayed up,, God...
Read moreUsed to come here a lot before the pandemic, but still come by to drop off donations every now and again.
I won't be doing that anymore.
Some staff were sorting the donations outside in close quarters without masks. I waited until they were done so that I could safely drop my own donations off. One of the women working there approached me to greet me, and I was upset to see she still was without a mask. I didn't say anything because I just wanted to drop my donations off as quick as possible.
She eventually tried to get closer to me to help me unload my car (I did not need help), but I declined her because AGAIN she was not wearing a mask and would be too close for comfort.
She gave me a confused look and said "Sorry, my mask is inside."
A lot of good that does anyone. :/ The simplest way to prevent spread of anything airborne such as covid-19 or even the flu is to be physically distant and consistently cover your mouth and nose with a mask. It is easy to do, it is not hard to breath thru, and it is selfish to fail to do that when you are around people.
It is AUGUST. We are still trying to flatten the curve.
There are other thrift stores that will take the necessary precaution, and my donations. I won't be...
Read moreI came across the reviews while checking New 2 U's website for their hours. Still closed on Mondays... After reading the reviews I wanted to give mine as well. My family and I make donations here at least three to four times a year. When my mother passed, a majority of her more decent (sellable) belongings, furniture were donated here too. We chose this place for its charitable mission. It saddens me that some of the reasons for the negative reviews of late may prevent the necessary sales and donors needed in helping young families. I have also bought items here I really didn't need by keeping that fact in mind... the purchase goes to helping others. Everything has increased in cost including running a charitable organization. I hope Volunteer Rhonda is still selflessly helping, donating her time and is continually blessed for her efforts in helping customers get what they need at prices they can afford...or else what is the benefit for them to shop there in the first place? I hope the number of volunteer staff has increased with patient, experienced, knowledgeable volunteers. And I hope and pray New 2 U is still helping families in need. We will continue to donate until we find out...
