I asked for slight correction to DIY hair cut... the hairstylist was just recently hired and fresh out of cosmetology school so I knew she was inexperienced, but I felt it was fine since my hair didn't require much correction and for her to have a new client to build her client base - unfortunately, I got too many unwanted layers on one side around my face that were too short and didn't blend well with the length of my hair, I was unhappy about that and told her I didn't like all those layers as it did not blend well - I received no apology, just excuses for why it came out that way and I knew that was not it. She had another experienced stylist look at it who showed her how to correct it but I was afraid she would put in more layers (at that point I would have to cut off 2 inches of the entire length just to blend in it more) so I told her to just leave it. I paid for the cut with 20% tip - despite walking out unhappy and without an apology. I was able to salvage the cut with adding layers on the other side myself. It looks better now and although I didn't want my hair with that many layers, it will grow back so it's not that big of a deal. But it's unprofessional to treat clients this way - just apologize, it's forgiving. You will win a repeat client with me if you do just that, even if the cut came out different than the client expected, especially since you are inexperienced and trying to build a client base.
It's a nice salon and the ladies there seem friendly but I would not go back. Many girls working here are inexperienced and fresh out of cosmology school. Go in with low...
Read moreSecond bad experience, 0/2. Making the appointment, I said "I'm picky, please give me whoever is best at men's haircuts"... she instead gave me whoever was next on her list. I could go into exquisite detail, but don't want to seem malicious... Overview: What I got was an overpriced hack-job by an amateur, all tentative uncertain movements, as I watched my haircut get worse and worse. I showed pictures of myself with the exact haircut I wanted, I described it in detail, I offered feedback as the disaster was unfurling... but she just had no idea what she was doing. I literally gave myself a better haircut, with a beard trimmer, a month into quarantine. Now I'll be wearing a hat for the next month. Seriously, don't fall for the admittedly great interior- save yourself the salon-priced expense and get your men's haircut anywhere else. (I've been spoiled by the place I go to in Baltimore, where I've never had a weak haircut and they only charge $20 for...
Read moreWent here for a hair trim on the top and a short cut on the sides. The barber told me that she would cut it at eyebrow level, which was what I went for because I needed a trim. My hair has a lot of damage from when I used to straighten it, so it's not exactly even, but I wanted to grow it out with continuous trims and maintenance until it became that way. I assumed that the stylist, being a professional, would be aware of this.
I was clearly mistaken, as almost all the hair on my head was removed. Not one piece of this haircut was done as agreed upon or requested. The top was cut ridiculously short and the sides were left fairly long.
It'll take months to grow my hair back to the length I wanted it to be, and I'll need to use hair clippers to cut the sides shorter myself, since this entire situation has shaken my trust not only in this salon, but in...
