Off to a good start!! But still room for improvement. Another honest review headed your way. We have been eying this place up for months. They had the exterior painted for advertising ahead of time, but then didn’t open for quite some time. So we patiently waited. I’ve been saying for years that SP needs a good ice cream shoppe; not everyone is a frozen yogurt fan. After a long wait, they finally opened up. We ventured in last Tuesday to give it a try. The place was packed. All the way to the door, the line snaked around. The wait was long, very long, as expected for a newly opened place. More on this later. The ice cream (homemade I believe it said) got mixed reviews from our party. I had the chocolate and found it to be absolutely delicious, and very tasty. A very creamy texture, rich in flavor. My husband had lemon cheesecake and the brownie flavor in a waffle cone. He reported that the brownie ice cream flavor was pretty good, but not as good as Hersheys, still good tho, and the lemon cheesecake flavor was surprisingly bland, and lacked the tart and tangy punch he was expecting, or at least hoping for when he chose it, and the waffle cone was great. Now granted, neither of us asked for free samples as half the town was already in there doing that which we believe was partly the reason for the lengthy wait to be served. The other reason was, it seemed, lack of experience and leadership among the employees, both of which can hopefully be improved over time. There did seem to be a reasonable amount of down time amongst the employees in between tasks and customers which was a bit frustrating and amounted to more than a 20 minute wait to get to the counter. The exterior, as I mentioned earlier, was very inviting. And beautifully painted!! Shout out to the artist and designer. The interior was nicely painted, decorated with skateboards, and had several tables and chairs for dining in while there was an adorable area outside that was quite large, and roped off for outside seating. There were picnic tables with umbrellas for shade, and plastic Adirondack chairs to sit in. It was great! And directly adjacent to the B&A Trail, as well as conveniently located in the heart of SP proper. They also had refreshments for sale, as well as merch (shirts, stickers, and hats). In addition to the hard serve ice cream that we tried, their menu also included soft serve, loads of toppings, milk shakes, malts, and floats, vegan flavors and even gluten free cones. And lastly the parking, there was limited parking to serve all of the businesses in that location, but plenty of additional parking a stones throw up the street. I gave it 5 stars despite the negatives we noticed because I think it has great potential and will very soon live up to its full potential. I look forward to updating my review after my next visit. Oh. Almost forgot…they offer pup cups in the form of dog biscuits but I think I saw someone outside with an actual pup cup so kudos to them for including mans...
Read moreThrilled to have my favorite local ice cream shop so close with this newly opened Severna Park location, which has easy walk off access from the trail. Fun painted exterior, small air conditioned interior with bathroom, and plenty of seating in the back, many with umbrellas. Not as much selection as I recall from previous visits to the Annapolis shop. Prices are expensive (paid almost $19 for just a 2-scoop cup and a regular milkshake). Servings are average size. Service was reasonably friendly and fast. I got S'mores flavor (very tasty with lots of mix-ins) and Captain Crunch (not so great, the cereal was pulverized so zero "crunch"). As is pretty much the norm everywhere now, they do force a gratuity selection on your checkout which defaults to 20% additional tip. Overall a very nice and truly local establishment and glad to...
Read moreLove the location right on the corner so it’s easy to spot if you’re driving by. A few parking spaces available, we showed up on National Ice Cream day so there was of course a line but things were moving smoothly and everyone was in a good mood. They have a balance of traditional ice cream and non-dairy/vegan ice cream, you can also buy pints and they have some ice cream sandwiches and other handcrafted ice cream treats. I tried the vegan cotton candy and the dairy free coffee Oreo and both were really flavorful without being too sweet. You can add toppings so I went with graham crackers for a difference in texture and I am very happy with that choice. Highly recommended if you live in the area and a great option if you are taking a walk or bike ride on...
