You never quite know what you'll find because stocking happens in small batches. There was an elegant copy of a Hemingway or Faulkner book lying near Icelandic goat notecards the last time I went. Legos mingle with charade games, model horses, putty, and puzzle boxes. If you see something, buy it, because there probably aren't more of them in the building.

The regular prices are high compared to mass market stores and plastic junk, but so many of these things are high quality, sustainably made, eco-material, fair trade things that deserve the price point. However there were many things on sale when I arrived. I was able to get many things at 40-75% off, which was a steal for these things. Also in the toy selection they had similar things in many price points. I couldnāt justify the $70 blocks from some fancy company but they had the Melissa & Doug $20 blocks too.
One canāt complain about the outsourcing of jobs and the closing of āmom and popā shops if they donāt understand the cost of those things and...

The woman in the store told my child twice directly, not to me, that he was not allowed to touch anything when all he did was point to an owl on a display book. It was so uncomfortable I walked out. Iāve heard this is a repeat experience here. I donāt know what inspired this woman to own an toy store, but I think she needs another line of work if she dislikes children coming in.
