Had a good time with MOST of the instructors. Nancy, Chris, and DR Ernie were nice. Nancy took her time being explaining skills and was very professional with us. I am not one to write reviews but Pam was horrible - not a single student liked her in my class of 20+ people. She was VERY rude to the students and tried to single students out anytime they would make a mistake ( literally stopping the entire class from practicing independently to tell them about the students mistake ), made a student cry, She would rip something out of your hand, she would yell no at you, or laugh at you if you weren’t doing something perfectly or correctly the first time. I have never had a teacher make me feel like I could not ask a question or get clarification besides Pam - not only is that a horrible learning environment but it’s a safety concern to make the students feel this way. Not being able to ask a question or be provided clarification may put a patient at risk during clinical or future in interactions. She also made a racial comment to a few students during clinical and didn’t allow them to have the same opportunity because they were not white. One of our skills during clinical we need to have sighed off on is bathing/showering - the three girls were going to help a shower aid with showering a resident but Pam would only allow one of the girls to help because supposedly the patient taking the shower wanted you to be white. She said IN QUOTE “the whiter the better”. She also talked badly about Nancy, Dr Ernie, and Chris countless times and made things very uncomfortable when we were not...
Read moreWhen I was first looking for NA-C training, I wasn't sure who to go through. A quick Google search led me to NATI. Honestly, I thought maybe it was a scam at first since it was much more affordable and faster than other programs offered in Seattle. Too good to be true...4 quick weeks and you're done? No way!
After doing some more research, I enrolled in the summer session. The classes that I took were excellent. There is supplemental instruction, and the staff genuinely cares about training people to be the best CNAs. What I really enjoyed was the skills lab. It was a lot of work and practice, but the staff made it easy to come in and practice for the skills portion of the exam. The clinical was fantastic, too. The instructors are incredibly experienced, and were able to answer all of my questions about becoming a successful CNA.
The site is also where the state exam takes place, so it was great to have a home court advantage when I took my exam. There is an open lab to practice in, and the school has many options to come in and practice. Take advantage of it.
My only criticism is that I could tell that ESL students had a tougher time completing this program, as it is incredibly fast paced. English language proficiency is an advantage for sure.
I'm so glad that I went to NATI for my training. I'm working now as a caregiver, and my coworkers have complimented me on my skills and techniques that I've learned from NATI. I didn't have any health care experience before this. I can't recommend...
Read moreOverall wonderful experience- you can tell that everyone there really cares and wants you to do well. Our group had Nancy for the clinical part and oh my goodness- she was amazing! One of the nicest people you’ll ever meet, and she made the experience so much better. She was always patient with us, gave us tons of advice, and was funny and sweet the entire time. We all had a great time and learned so much because of her. Can’t say enough good things- Highly reccomend! And if you can get Nancy for your clinicals then you’ll have nothing to...
