We recently celebrated a child’s birthday party in Escapology Escape Room Sarasota, and for most of the kids, it was their very first escape room experience. They were really excited and super intrigued by the whole idea. The challenge was definitely tricky but very interesting, and whenever the kids got stuck, they received some helpful clues to keep them going. In the end, they escaped right on time, which made them all feel incredibly proud. We had one parent inside the room with them, who also said it was challenging and maybe better for older kids but still fun. Some parents stayed outside to watch the game on the TV screen, which was a highlight — it was great to “spy” on the kids and see their teamwork in action.
While the experience itself was fun and memorable, I do want to note a few things that could be improved. When we arrived, it seemed like our party host wasn’t quite ready for us — the room wasn’t set up yet, and they were still vacuuming and arranging tables after we got there. Our contract stated that plates, silverware, and napkins would be provided, but nothing was set on tables, and we had to look for them ourselves. No water was provided either. After the game, there was supposed to be a group photo done that should have been emailed to parents, but this wasn’t done. Kids were also supposed to receive a themed wristbands and branded t-shirt for a birthday person, but unfortunately, we didn’t get those ether.
In summary, the kids had a wonderful time, and it was definitely a unique and exciting birthday idea that they will sure remember. However, we did feel there wasn’t quite enough attention to the hosting details, and with a bit more preparation and follow-through, this could have been an absolutely...
Read moreMyself, my husband and our parents went and did The Lost City Escape Room. Once we arrived, the staff were incredibly kind and calm. The storm outside and our sopping wet clothes and shoes didn’t phase them. They were polite and even notified us of the policy regarding time since we were a little late. They were accommodating and kindly answered any questions we had.
We were escorted to the room and the play was phenomenal. The theme was spot on and the tasks were challenging but with a clue here and there achievable in the time limit. Definitely not easy- which is what you want! A challenge!
We did have some trouble in the room as my mom is disabled and there wasn’t a ton of space but it was functional-just a tad tight. Additionally we had one element not function the first time we did it- the clue later on helped point us back to it and we were able to proceed but it was an element on the wall that didn’t open the first time.
It was incredibly thought out and the rooms and facilities were beautiful. By far, the best escape room I have...
Read moreWe did The Lost Temple. It was just ok. The facility is very clean, spacious, smells good, etc. Because there were so many rooms I thought it would actually be larger. The room itself was actually kinda small and boring... Some of the puzzles didn't line up properly, some of the triggers didn't trip properly, and some of the puzzles themselves were very .... Generic... I guess is the right word. The clue masters, while personable, were not very interactive. The intro seemed rushed. We were given clues when not needed and for puzzles that were already finished. We spent quite a few minutes with the correct answer for one of the puzzles, then we were given a clue (which only confirmed we had the right answer) but apparently the magnets weren't lining up to trip the mechanism. Game masters just didn't seem to be paying attention. Overall it was a lot of money for a lack luster experience. There are some really great escape rooms EXPERIENCES around, but this one just...
