Loved the coop in the heart of downtown. Sure it could have been a little bigger but it felt great. Alas they moved and left a big hole in the town center. But now its got plenty of space is wide open and has more of the same. In exchange for modern marketing efficiency it lost its soul. Its very cold, both literally and figurativly. Freezing. Empty. Harsh lighting. High industrial ceiling. Albertsons feels homier. Feel sorry for those who work in that cavern. As expensive as it is, Id pay more if somwbody would reopen the old one again to compete. So sad. I dont know if I want it to succerd or fail but not feeling good about what they did and will shop elsewhere. Plenty of corporations do cold industrial better...
Read moreI love everything the co-op sells and for the most part i have had pretty good experiences. Although today i received terrible customer service. I asked one of the cashier women who was putting tester essential oils on herself about the pricing of the oils related to bottle size. She essentially couldnt answer me and stayed quiet with her back towards me while putting oils on. I thanked her anyways. She ended up checking me out and had no customer service skills at all, not even a "thank you for shopping with us" or "have a good day". She did howeever ask if i was a member but that was it. Read moreUnfortunately having to downgrade my review after years as a loyal customer. I no longer even live in the area and still make it a point to shop here a few times per year. Last week, I encountered extreme bullying and unprofessionalism by the new staff because I was shopping 30 minutes before they closed!
I have always loved this store, it's history, mission and friendly staff. Beware, like many service industry roles people no longer seem to think they have to treat their paying customers with any kind of decency or respect.
