Silver Barbell — Local services in Silver City

I was in town for a week and was having trouble finding a gym to use during my time in Silver City. Most of the gyms in town are geared toward permanent residents / full time gym members and are not staffed and accessed through a key fob. Silver Barbell is similar except when I called the number listed I got a hold of Jason the owner and he met me at the gym to let me in, show me around and gave me a key fob for the duration of my stay in Silver City so I was able to access the gym whenever was convenient for me. The gym is well equipped for standard weight lifting which is what I used it for, the owner is a power lifter so it's well equipped for the more serious lifter as well. If you're in town I would definitely recommend calling the gym and working out a guest pass with Jason - he was very accommodating and extremely fair...

I was in Silver visiting family for about a week and really needed a place to workout while in town. I called Silver Barbell, left a voicemail, and Jason got back to me immediately (I’ll add that I called 2 other local gyms, one never responded, and the other we played phone tag a bunch). I told Jason I was in from out of town, and he immediately welcomed me into his space, and was super accommodating. He had everything you need for your basic lifting needs (I’m easy to please, I don’t need much): 3 squat cages, smith machine, a bunch of benches and racks, deadlift platforms, turf & sled, tires, battle ropes, dumbbells, kettlebells, etc. Friendly, community minded business, super responsive & communicative....

I was in Silver City for two weeks for work and called around to all the local gyms to see what they could offer for a short stay. Most only offered monthly memberships or expensive day passes. When I called Jason at Silver Barbell, he was incredibly accommodating and offered me a great deal that fit my short stay. He even gave me a tour and set me up with access the same day.
