I ordered a game online the night before I went into the store. When I went in, James took over the transaction from the employee originally helping me. Unfortunately, that's where all the help stopped.
First, I was told the order(1 game) hadn't been picked yet, and I will have to come back when it has. When I asked if they could "pick" the game while I waited, I was told no. Then, I was told the game actually isn't even in stock even though online they showed it was. The reason why? Because all the games were pre-ordered. When I asked what my options were, I was told I couldn't get the game I ordered, and I needed to cancel the order. James then went ahead and canceled the order himself and told me the refund would be put back on my gift card, which I no longer had. Also, I haven't seen refunds being put back on gift cards. That was news to me to begin with.
Naturally, I was a bit frustrated at this point and asked James to give me a new gift card with my refund as I no longer had the one I used. This is where James proceeded to lecture me on how I was being rude and talking at him, and he didn't have to help me. After 40 minutes of waiting, James was able to get in touch with customer service and issue me a gift card, only because I insisted on getting a refund in hand. Otherwise, he was going to turn me way without a game or a refund. From the moment I walked in, James seemed like he did not want to help. Maybe he was having a bad day, I'm not sure. Regardless, customer service is a thing that he needs training in. I went to a different Gamestop, and they informed me that online orders need to be honored if a customer walks in. I don't mind the situation if online inventory didn't match store inventory , but James' attitude was unacceptable. I was even more surprised to learn he was the manager at the store. After being given 2 different reasons why I couldn't get the game I ordered AND not getting a straightforward refund, I have to question James's real motive. The other employee was going to go get the game, and I would have been on my way. He even said at one point, "I see some in stock." I'm not sure what to make of this situation. Hopefully, James...

Read moreThis store is an absolute mess. They close at whatever time they see fit. Tonight I watched someone standing at the door guarding a half closed store 45 minutes before their normal closing time (their normal closing time is 2 hours sooner than they claim online so good luck figuring that out yourself), blatantly see on the door they aren’t supposed to be closed and my guess is they are too lazy to sit there for another 45 minutes. Have some lower paid kid guarding the door to take the blame in case upper management would happen to see they closed and stopped helping customers at whatever time they see fit. They also won’t open until almost...
