This place was horrendous!!! First off, the waitress was so rushed, she didn't pay attention to our order. I asked about getting a waffle in place of the pancake or french toast in the Silver Spring Breaskast Special. All 3 are priced the same for 1 serving in the "grill" section. There was a $2+ upcharge, so I told her I would just take the french toast, then. I also asked for "extremely crisp bacon", when it came one piece was floppy, so I asked her to replace it. She brought a plate with charred bacon. 😑 Also, I asked for fried onions on my homefries, which cost a ridulous .95 extra. When they came, they were not only steamed, definitely NOT fried, and they were old onions which were basically inedible! I am just expecting a terrible stomach problem later today! Lastly, on my meal, when my food came there was raisin bread for toast. At least the server realized this and apologized for it before she scurried away to get the rye that I ordered, and didn't give me time to tell her about the waffle she brought, and I was NOT paying to eat. Later, my husband told me his omelette had cheese, when he said "no" upon the server asking if he wanted cheese. He didn't have a problem with it, and he had to eat quickly so he could get to work, so he didn't tell her about it. If this business would not waste so much money replacing mistakes, they might be able to afford quality...
Read moreI want this to be a higher rating - but all things considered - it is what it is. This diner is in a shopping center parking lot. There is no exterior charm, but a large, plenty of seating dining area.
Everything was clean and the staff was friendly enough. I heard one of the servers chatting away with another table. I got the basics, nothing extra. That isn't bad, it just wasn't - diner-y folksy.
My food was inexpensive - that is a plus.
My food was, however - not good. it was edible, but not good. I had the turkey dinner plate (might not be the real name) and a side of Brussel sprouts. The sprouts were gray and like mush. Sure - that is edible -but not...good. The plate of food was at different temperatures - none of it hot. The "gravy" was thick like...hmmm pudding? I wish I would have thought to scrape it off. The little plastic cup of cranberry was a nice side - do they really need to use all that extra plastic for one teaspoon? The turkey was fine, thick, seemed fresh vs old. It was, frankly, visibly unappealing, very salty, and...like - plopped on the plate and microwaved (which it probably was).
So. Would I come back here. No. If I were really hungry and nothing else was open, sure. If I were a local...well.....I might see if there is an alternative - at least...
Read moreIt's just getting worse in there, was there Sunday 6/18 & expected to be busy but was all around disappointment, seated & girl came in min or two to get drink order, never had chance to see menu & asked what we wanted, I needed a min, well I probably read every item on that menu as long as it took to have order taken, she came over or past 3X saying be back in a min., this was 20-25 min., the order seemed to be expedited but the food was so blah, swear the scrambled eggs were like a powder they mix up, the homefries were horrible, some powdery stuff on them, no flavor & he said could tell cheap eggs & bacon, the only thing semi decent was his French toast. & Then the owner just floats around seating ppl & asking ppl to do things, u can tell he doesn't handle anything & only a few of those ladies there really work and these r the tables the owner constantly seats people. I'm sure those waitresses feel no support from the owner & his family that just sit & watch. There was a situation with table next to us with someone stated something found in their food, I thought that owner would come around to make it right but what I heard is alot of ladies there upset & saying not be back. Used to be great - now barely ok,...
