Sequoia Dentistry — Local services in Simi Valley

I decided to go to Sequoia Dentistry because of their high reviews and now that I've been seen there twice I can see that their perfect rating is well-deserved. They have patient care down to an art.

My first visit was for a routine exam and cleaning and before I'd even made it to the appointment I was already impressed by how friendly and helpful Mackenzie (the office manager) was in receiving my records from my past dentist and confirming my insurance coverage. When I showed up for the appointment I was greeted by name and treated like an old friend, not just a new patient. Jesse (the dental assistant) was personable and very adept at taking the 3D images of my teeth. The cleaning (by Daisy, the hygienist) was a breeze and throughout the whole process I was regularly asked how comfortable I was, if I needed anything, and kept informed of exactly what to expect, including from a billing standpoint (thanks to Mackenzie, who'd done the insurance research for me and knew exactly what was covered and what my co-pay was ahead of time so that there were no surprises). I immediately liked Dr. Proniloff ("Dr. Jeff"), who is energetic and thorough and took his time to explain in detail what concerns he had regarding my teeth and recommending a conservative treatment plan, all while referencing the imaging of my teeth which were displayed on the large TV screen in front of the exam chair. I'd never seen my teeth in such detail and it really helped me to understand the dental work that I'd had done in the past and what work should be considered in the future.

Yesterday one of my crowns had fallen off (the crown was done by my previous dentist, not by Dr. Jeff) and when I called the office Mackenzie picked up the phone when she wasn't even supposed to be working because I'd called twice within an hour and she was concerned that there was an emergency. She got me an appointment for just one hour later and although I'd expected the appointment to be short (I'd had the crown reattached multiple times by my old dentist and it was always a quick process), Dr. Jeff took his time to clean and reshape the crown so that it would be more comfortable and not continue to detach. I wasn't aware that my crown had a jagged edge that was irritating my gums but after Dr. Jeff smoothed it, I immediately felt relief and now the surrounding gum tissue feels better than it has since the crown was put on 10 years ago. Ana assisted with the reattachment of the crown and she was wonderful with explaining what I could expect and even noted that the office was a little chilly (although I was comfortable) and offered me a blanket! I got VIP treatment but didn't worry about a high bill because Mackenzie had already discussed the charges with me.

The entire staffs interacts with each other in such a friendly and casual way that you get the feeling that the office must be a great place to work. Their combined command of medicine, billing/insurance, technology, and compassionate patient care is...

Dr. Jeff really is GREAT. He has a very light touch and is very thorough and professional on the work performed on my teeth. I also agree on one of the previous reviews, that I liked the fact that he did not try to upsell me on any other procedures, but instead pointed out the issues I was dealing with, and explained the options and how I could do my part to keep them from getting worse and how to keep an eye out on prevention of major issues. My 2 boys and I have been going to Sequoia Dentistry since 2006, and were very sad with the passing of Dr. Tran. I went once more right after his passing but wasn't quite happy with the particular Dr. at that time. I decided to give Sequoia Dentistry one more try now that they have the new Dr. Jeff, and I have to say that I am very happy to have taken that decision. We will once again continue to be patients of Sequoia Dentistry for as long as Dr. Jeff is there to treat us. I would recommend for all of you who where patients of Dr. Tran, to give Dr. Jeff a chance and I can assure you that you will be as happy as I was to be...

I was referred to Dr Jeff at Sequoia Dentistry by a friend after a horrible experience at another dental office. My entire experience at Sequoia Dentistry was fabulous! A+ From the front desk to the dental hygienist to the dentist himself…everyone was warm, caring, knowledgeable, personable and best of all HONEST! The exam was thorough, gentle, and painless, the cleaning was done by Dr Jeff (although he did tell me he doesn’t typically do the cleanings, except for first time patients occasionally). Dr Jeff took his time with the exam and the cleaning. Went tooth by tooth giving all kinds of notes to the hygienist. And explained everything to me as he went. I only had one very tiny cavity which he said they would monitor and as long as it doesn’t grow, it wouldn’t need a filling. I did have some staining on 3 teeth which Dr Jeff kindly buffed off during the cleaning. 😃 The office was extremely clean and organized! I’m so happy to have found a great dentist! I’ll be back...
