Good location. Easy to find. Lots of free parking. Relatively comfortable seating. Low prices at the concession stand. But I guess we are not great fans of musicals. Although the actors/singers had good, powerful voices, frankly there was too much singing. And the words were hard to understand. This was our second visit. And the second time we left during the intermission. Actually, in this musical about murder, they missed a good opportunity to get the audience involved, like in melodrama theater. The audience should have been hiding and booing and cheering the hero/villain/victim all along. It would have been such fun. The current play really lends itself to that. The closest melodrama theater is in Bakersfield and it's popular and always sold out. This place should consider filling that gap. Incidentally, when we left at the intermission, we thought, at first, that the play was over. After all, the star had already killed everyone. It was only when we asked the woman at the wine bar why people were still milling around that we realized there was...
Read moreSaw All Shook Up last night, our first time at this venue. Delightful musical! Courteous staff! But the important things to know are to (1) NEVER buy tickers from Goldstar for this venue (they wait til 2 hrs before the show to assign your seats, then give you leftover seats (per the box office gal), and (2) NEVER EVER sit in the balcony. The seats were so cramped our knees (I'm 5"7") hit the chair in front of me, your arms had to be tucked into your lap, your hips were uncomfortably snuggled to the stranger next to you, and the seats were so uncomfortable we got up and left at the intermission because our backs were both hurting so bad from the horrid seats. What a shame to not be able to finish...
Read moreMissed my nieces play because we spent almost two 2hours trying to find it.. very nice guys at the fire dept, stopped at numerous restaurants - nobody knew what we were talking about. We followed Google Maps, and the picture showed a blddg we found... it was locked.. it appears there was a smaller theater behind the one in the picture. We drove 30 miles to get there, and then probably another 30 just driving down very dark streets with no signs of the event. Was home by 1030 and was very disappointed. It would have been helpful if the website had directions. We never miss a show with my niece & nephew. I'm more frustrated about that... not angry, just sad...
