Burger Express Fresh Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Simi Valley

Ate there for the first time when a friend told me how good it was. It was probably one of the best burgers I have ever had.

Went back a week later to buy dinner for the entire family and got the exact opposite; some of the worst burgers I've ever had in my life.

They were dried out and over cooked beyond what any reason or common sense would dictate. I can't believe anyone would serve what was effectively charcoal briquettes on a bun and call it food.

The onion rings were so chewy/rubbery I thought I had been given fried calmary by mistake. And I'm still trying to figure out if the french fries were actually deep fried or just steamed into the soggy limp mass of potato strips I was given.

While they obviously have potential based on my first visit, their inability to provide a consistent product and the absolute horrid quality I receive on my second visit, I would recommend that everyone stay as far away from this place...

Tried this place based on a bunch of positive feedback on reddit. Holy cow was I in for a treat! They catered my daughter's b-day - asada and chicken tacos with all the fixings. Excellent quality. The meats are tender and juicy, not dry and full of fat and gristle like most taco joints. The beans....dear lord the refried beans were so good. The salsas are also noteworthy.

Look, I've had the best tacos in the world in CDMX so my bar is very high and frankly, most Mexican food in LA is mediocre. But Burger Express has given me hope. Armando, the owner is so gracious and passionate about the quality of his food too. He made me several tacos free of charge when I placed my order and I could tell this is a man who cares about his customers. Don't let the "burger" in the name fool you, this is a very high quality Mexican restaurant too....one of my top 3 in all of...

One of the best burgers I have ever eaten! I ordered the bacon burger and asked for jalapenos and a side of bbq sauce to add in it later. Holy cow... pun intended? Not really, but I'll tell you: Shredded Lettuce Perfectly Cooked Bacon Tangy BBQ Sauce Perfectly Cooked Patty Tasty Sliced Jalapenos Tomatoes Crispy Onions Crispy Yummy Pickles and Toasted Buns

I think I'll call this burger Crampton's Craving... Yeah, ask them for it when you go but you'll probably have to tell them the ingredients cuz they don't know it has a name yet.

Dude! Biting through this burger every flavor is tasted and I didn't have pieces of bacon pulling out. Actually, the burger stayed together pretty well despite having nearly mauled it.
