I came to Pelham Links after many years of neglect due to residual fear from previous procedures performed some years ago. I went in yesterday afternoon knowing that I had two molars that needed excised plus a bone graph on one. I explained my past history to Dr Mehr of being novacaind resistant. He assured me that he would get me in early to allow additional time for the anesthetic to soak in providing me greater analgesic relief. The staff is so great, I walked in, was provided the requested sedative gas through a nose tube relaxing me immediately. The doctor and staff were very clear in detailing what they were doing as we went along and what I could expect. I felt no pain, they dialed the headphones in to my favorite soundscape settings and they worked while I kicked back...... I was amazed when they were finished that it had happened so quickly, I was not in pain and was able to drive home. I took the medication before I went to sleep . Today, my second day, is the true test.... my jaws are not swollen and my lips and mouth not sore feeling like a little war had taken place in there ) . My tooth pain is gone and I am just so relieved. I can't wait now that I know what to expect, to call them on Monday to put together a plan to fix a rear molar crown that has seen it's better days.
If anyone has stayed away from having dental work done for awhile due to fear, I can attest that you should let your memories go. Let Dr Mehr and team help you start your new journey ii helping you become a more healthy you starting with your teeth.
They are great, (even held my hand).
A big thank you to each and every one of the Pelham Links...
Read moreI have had the pleasure of being with Pelham since I moved to the upstate and thankfully they were my first choice for a new dentist. I have never seen such a clean and beautiful office and the office is conveniently located. As far as my experience on both occasions they have been terrific and made me feel very comfortable. Kim and Mandy are always smiling and willing to answer any questions in detail so you can know what to expect before you even arrive. Jocilyn is magnificent and really it feels like you are talking with a friend for the entire encounter. She always goes above and beyond to let the patient know what is happening and calmly walking you through each step. She also always provides very important tips on ways to better your dental health which I always appreciate. When it is time for Dr. Mehr to visit he also takes his time and makes you feel very comfortable while explaining thoroughly in tremendous detail what is happening and everything to expect. He too feels more like you are chatting with an old friend. As someone in my mid 30's that is a rare occurrence for a dental visit. By the time the visit is over they go over any follow up and at home instructions. Jocilyn even called me the day after to make sure I was feeling okay and advised the hours they will be there should I need to talk or have any questions. All in all I am very thankful to have found them and my wife and I have a new favorite dentist. I can assure you that you will feel the...
Read moreI agree, the office looks great. It is well maintained and clean and one would think that this would be a great place to go for a dental checkup. I arrived for my appointment today and started to fill out the paperwork, however, they required my social security number. I dont give out my social security number because it is the biggest part of your identity. I asked the receptionist if it was needed and she said they couldnt see me unless I gave them the SSN OR paid out of pocket. They said it was required to file the insurance. So, I called my insurance company, Delta Dental. I talked with a representative from Delta, who said they preferred that the dental offices use the unique subscriber ID and NOT the SSN. So I called the dental office back and the receptionist was very short with me when I told her that Delta did not need the SSN. She said it didnt matter what Delta said, that she had been in insurance for 15 years and that they needed the SSN. I told her that I would find another dentist then and she said fine,...
