I called Smithfield Electric in a panic because of some bad electrical work by another electrician. Alisha, a member of the front office staff, was so helpful and due to a cancelation was able to work me in.

Smithfield Electric sent me a text so I would know when the electrician would arrive. Patrick was professional and courteous and was able to troubleshoot a circuit issue that was causing a number of outdoor plugs to lockup. I was out of the area and he walked me through the situation over the phone and left the area clean afterwards. Patrick performed an outstanding job. He even made sure our garage door was closed before he left.

The experience was top-notch from beginning to end. The work needing to be done was explained in a clear and understandable manner. All questions were answered, and any concerns were addressed with expertise. The quality of work was exceptional, showing expertise and attention to detail.

Today I was not quoted what the company technician was charging for to replace circuit breaker before installing one circuit breaker. He never trouble shooted th let me know if it was defected or not. So after talking to me while taking cover off of breaker box. He did have an assistant with him. He had see if any lights up stairs went out for power on that breaker.however he ask what did I want to do. I said that I wanted the breaker. So he went to his to check for replacement. He came back and said he had one. He change breaker. Then I asked how much was this service today and he $477 I said are you serious. He never used a meter or any tools but a screw driver. I felt this was a honest company. They should have told me that $425 was service charge plus parts. I paid because I don't have an electrical back ground. And I did not ask pricing before he did the work. I am totally dissatisfied for the pricing of this job. The technician ask me before he changed break did I have any electrical experience. Ethan (Smithfield Electric) trouble shot an outdoor electrical circuit that was used to support low voltage outside lighting, during a rain event it would trip the GFI breaker. On his first visit he corrected the problem and I was able to use the circuit for my holiday lights. During his second visit, he updated the covers on all outside outlets and we made plans to install a 3 way switched circuit in the crawlspace to support under the house lighting. Attention to detail was noted as covers matched existing box colors (brown and silver). Ethan and Chandler came back and installed the under house circuit and added an additional outlet on the outside circuit. All work was completed on time, with great attention to detail and things were left nicer than they were found. I would highly recommend their services and I believe we will have them back to install a dedicated circuit for a finished room over the garage (FROG) A/C unit.
