Will not be staying again! We had a birthday party for our 5yr old here. After getting out of the pool that afternoon we had a total of 6 kids coughing and vomiting profusely. By the end of the night we had to take them to the ER. The doctor told us it could be bacteria in the water but he has no way of testing. My significant other who booked 2 rooms and my nieces told the front desk clerk that night before we left for the ER about the symptoms the children were having and it came about after getting in the pool. The front desk clerk assumed they swallowed too much water so nothing was done. We get back to the hotel around 4am we notice an out of order sign on the pool. When we wake up that morning we notice the sign is still on the pool door, so me and sister go to the front desk and ask why the sign is on the pool door. The front desk clerk says she can't go into details but it's something with the chemicals. We proceed to tell her we were the ones with the sick kids. She was very apologetic and asked how the kids were. We told her they were still doing some coughing. She ended up letting us speak to the manager who was very defensive when we talked with her about what was going on with our children. She said she put the sign on the pool door because we said our kids got sick from the chlorine, I let her know we did not say that, we only said that the kids got sick after going in the pool but did not know whether it came from bacteria, or chlorine, or what. She then says well we had other people go in the pool and no one else said they got sick. (That could be because they didn't keep going underwater or they just didn't report anything) The manager claimed the water was fine, the levels just needed to be checked. She claimed she would give us the results, we never got them. She did not apologize or even ask anything about our children. She showed no concern, unlike the front desk clerk. I wish I would've gotten the front desk clerks name because she was very professional and caring, unlike the hotel manager. I really think she should be promoted to the manager position, and the manager should have training in hospitality. When we checked out the pool was still shut down and they looked to be treating a so called...
Read moreWe had one of the worst hotel experiences we’ve ever encountered at this Hampton Inn & Suites. We arrived around 2 a.m., exhausted from travel, and didn’t fully notice the condition of the room until the next morning — and what we found was completely unacceptable.||The room was filthy. Trash from a previous guest was left behind, and there were disturbing white liquid stains on the furniture and picture frames. The headboard looked damaged, with a large gouge or hole that had been lazily and poorly patched. The furniture was stained, the mirrors were grimy, and the floor was so dirty we didn’t feel comfortable walking barefoot. When we moved a chair, we found a stack of dirty linens shoved into the corner — something no guest should ever have to see.||The bathroom was equally appalling: hair from a previous guest still on the floor, a shower that was peeling and visibly deteriorated, and worst of all, the shower door fell off while trying to use it — a major safety hazard. It honestly felt like the room had been ignored completely by housekeeping, aside from swapping out the towels and sheets.||We reported the condition of the room to the front desk, and to their credit, the staff was kind and apologetic. They moved us to a cleaner room, which we appreciated. However, even in the second room, the hotel’s need for renovations was clear. The shower rod was loose, there were visible cracks in the walls, and the overall appearance was dated and worn. It still didn’t feel like a room that met Hampton or Hilton standards.||What made this worse was the lack of any compensation — no refund, no discount — despite the health and safety concerns we raised and how truly uncomfortable our experience was. We left feeling disappointed, frustrated, and frankly, gross.||We expected much better from a Hampton Inn & Suites. This property needs a serious deep clean and significant updates. Until that happens, we will not be returning — and we urge others to look elsewhere unless...
Read moreI was not informed of the pool being closed until the night before checking in with no time to make other arrangements. The digital key I requested was not activated and we were left standing in a 90 degree hallway attempting to open a door with a digital key that hadn't been set up. The reception desk apologized when they admitted they hadn't completed the digital key setup. I was given a smoking room that had no ventilation, no opening windows or exhaust fans. The room also shared a wall with the elevators. So i was able to hear, quite clearly, every time the elevators were used. The workout room was stifling hot as was the hallway outside my room. The AC in my room was equally as uncomfortable as it was not quite enough cooling or arctic winds while operating. The bathtub didn't drain so my wife and I had to wash in shin deep water, turning the shower off so it wouldn't overflow. In the pork Capitol of the world, Smithfield Virginia... you'd expect real sausage or bacon with the breakfast, but no.. it was all turkey based meat products. Parking near any hotel entrance was virtually nonexistent and the limited spots were all occupied. Because of this, my wife and I had to walk halfway around the building in the rain. The amenities boasted of a coffee machine in every room so I brought my own, artisan coffee to brew. But the coffee machine only accepted the hotels coffee packs in plastic trays. A filter basket for brewing free grounds wasn't available. When I reported the poorly draining tub, the reply was "I'll make sure our maintenance looks at that before the next guest." And when I requested a coffee machine to brew my own coffee, I was told "That's not possible." At checkout, I reported all these issues. It was met with raised eyebrows and an "I do apologize". No offer of a reduced price...
