DTC Communications — Local services in Smithville

Way too expensive for internet in my opinion. We signed up for the package that was $139 a month and our internet wasn't very good so we added another router because they said it would give the fastest speeds available but only they messed up and for some reason we couldnt even watch tv on cable anymore and it was worse than before. They said they would send someone out again to look at it but we would have to pay a fee we were paying $200 a month when it was supposed to be $139 because they add so many taxes on to each individual thing you have monthly. I ask if we could remove anything to get it down to around $150 a month as we originally thought it would be but they said no. We paid $300 deposit to begin with but we told them to turn it off because we couldn't afford $200 a month for internet because our cable never did get fixed and they did but of course charged us our $300 deposit for a early disconnection fee. Rip off in my opinion. Go get a wifi box at walmart and pay $50 a month for a card for it and it works just as well. Versus $200 a month. I truthfully think they will loose alot of customers because their prices are outrageous and their are so many places that are faster internet service for a quarter of the price...

The services work pretty good so far. The problem is the bills are hard to understand. Lots of added charges and more than you would expect to pay. They told me on the phone I could get a bundle for 140 a month. My first bill was 272 dollars. I called and they gave me a credit but on my next bill there was a late charge. I did not pay late ever. There is a lower price for first 3 months then my bill is expected to be more like 200 a month. I wish they could just give you the real price when you call. You have to get phone service even though I will never use it but will have to pay for it each month. Internet is OK if you only connect a couple devices at a time. TV is what you would expect. Perfect timing with incredible service. Ashley helped explain all the details and before she left on vacation made sure I would be set for connectivity! Indeed I was set ! Teh boat meeting I had could not have gone smoother with 6 of us using the same wifi line on the roof of the boat, the cabin and the front porch as well. Video conferences worked, and multitasking on conference and internet searches saved the day. I am extremely happy to be able to work from my get away- it works so good my husband unplugged the line and took us to the shore for the weekend so I wouldn't work anymore!
