We booked directly with Center Hills (Holiday at the Lake Home) and I dont think they knew how the house was. The issue we had was when we arrived the outside dinning light area did not work at all. None of the outside lights worked, only the porch light; thats it. So if you want to have a nice dinner outside forget about it, its pitch black. If you want to bbq at night, forget about it. IF you even want to walk around the patio, forget about it. I had emailed them and the caretaker Rick (who is absolutely amazing and very helpful) came and checked out the issues and really tried his best to fix the issue, but he couldnt. Also, in the queen bedroom downstairs only 1 light worked, the recess lighting nope, fan light, nope, lamp to the left of the bed, nope even the closet light nope. As well, the long stairs not lighted and even on the top no light. We had family over and they left at night and I had to use my phone to help them up the stairs, pitch black since the lights dont work On top of that, only 2 outlets worked in the whole kitchen, so if you wanted to use an outlet good luck. Speaking to Rick he seemed to think that it was something electrical and he checked the box to see if something was out of wack and nothing. He said he was texing the company to contact the owners to see if there was another box but 2 days later NO ONE CONTACTED ME ,thanks Center Hills for absolutely doing NOTHING to fix the issue. Rick, I thank you for trying to fix it with what you had to work with. Yes the place was clean, I'll give it that. Also, if you're from a place where you're not used to driving in mountains beware, this is sketchy and would not recommend driving at night. Also the parking, if you have 2 cars they wont fit. The parking is just a slab of concrete and I could only park my rental which was an expedition. The house had the minimum someone needs to cook and clean, the only thing is the Walmart is about 20mins away so make sure you stock up and make sure you're back...
Read moreWe booked our rental the same day we arrived. This was a working trip, that I thought may be more enjoyable in a home, than a hotel. Wrong assumption in this case. Upon arrival I tried to hook up to the internet, to prepare for the next days meetings. No internet. Ok, I guess I unwind with some T.V. NO tv, local cable, dvd, nada! Ok, I will use the beautiful bath tub. Nope seal in the plug is tore, it won't hold water. Send a message to the rental company. They send their repair guy the next day. The repair guy says yep.. tub doesn't hold water. Well replace the seal!! After some persausion from us ( the renters), that it's an easy fix, and one we have performed on our own properties, he agrees to go get a new seal for the tub. Contact the rental place again the next day, request that they contact the internet &/or cable company as there is a line/cable down, which is obviously the problem. They yet again, send one of their maintenance guys, who can not fix the problem. We never did see a cable or internet company. But the neighbor down the hill was kind enough to inform us the internet and cable were down the day before we even rented the place. It would of been nice, well even upfront and honest had the rental company informed me of this, when we booked the place. We would of went else where. Our final morning, it quit raining, thought we will finally sit on that back deck. The majority of the chairs are broken! The towels and paper products were extremely low quality. The water intake for the upstairs tub was clogged with black hair (gross). I did finally receive an apology from the rental place today, after I requested some of my money back. Of course they don't do that. Stay clear!! You are always better off to deal with an actual home owner, then rip off...
Read moreUnfortunately had a very poor experience with this company. The place we stayed wasn't a complete disaster, just a good number of items that were below general expectations for a stay as a paying guest. Hot tub did not work, ice machine did not work, water on fridge did not work, grill did not work, fireplace did not work, couple of broken windows on the home, some general uncleanliness with the furniture, floors, bedding, etc. when I called the office to address these items, they told me it was my responsibility to let them know as soon as we arrived the complete condition of the residence and it's amenities. If this stipulation is not met, they cannot do anything since they were not informed on the first day of our stay. I asked if it was not the responsibility of the owners/operating company to make sure the accommodations being advertised online, that we are paying to receive, are in working order ahead of time, and the manager was very noncommittal and did not offer any sort of recompense or apology. This was all very frustrating. I normally do not like to leave disappointed reviews, but unfortunately this was not my first experience with this company receiving what I would consider to be significantly subpar service. Most likely will not be staying in residences owned/operated by Center Hill Chalets in the future. Just not the way that I would do business. If you so desire, advise when considering...
