"Jessica" who said she was a manager rang me up at the cash register with 3 dvd's that were $1 a piece, but they were on sale for $0.01. I was happy and she let me check out and said, "Wow, that's a great deal! Nice job." She then asked me, "Can you hand me all of those dvd's? I'd like to get some, I love watching these!" (They were the movies that have around 5 scary films on one DVD). I handed her the movies and she went through them all and found all of the "echobridge" ones and said that, "all of the echobridge dvd's are on sale".
I then thought that I might want a few more and asked her if I could see them again. She said, "Sure" and handed me the pile of movies that weren't on sale and were all "MOVIES U BUY" videos. I said, "No, where are the echobridge movies?" She didn't say a word, but you could tell she was angry and pulled them out from behind the counter where she was hiding them until she got off work, so she could purchase them.
I found around 20 movies (around half of them) that I wanted and I was thrilled to check out and get home and watch them.
I was walking over to the other cashier to check out, because I didn't really trust her and she said, "Close your register down and go on break." He said he would after taking me, but she said, "Don't worry, I'll get him." That's when I could tell something was up and wasn't going to go well.
I put the dvd's down and had my money in my hand, ready to pay. She NEVER even scanned one of them, but said, "Ahh, those are all $1 each". I said, "But you haven't even scanned one? Can you scan one on the cash register so I can see that it is popping up as $1?" She walked over a few registers down and walked back and said, "Yup, it's $1". She claimed she scanned it on her handheld device. I asked her to scan it on the register and she refused, because they were $1 each.
I then said, "Ok, that's fine, I'll still take them." Because I looked in my wallet and found $40 that I forgot I had in there. Her excuse then turned into, "Actually, I can't even sell you these". I said, "What do you mean?", she said, "It's actually telling me that I can't even sell you the movies." I said, "But you haven't even scanned any of them? How do you know that they have gone from $0.01, to $1, to not sellable in less than two minutes?".
She refused to sell them to me, even at $1 a piece, because she knew they would ring up as $0.01 each and it would let me check out!
She then picked up a phone and started mumbling for 30 seconds and then hung up. (I am pretty sure she wasn't even talking to anyone.) She came over to me and said, "Yea, I was told I can't sell you them." I asked, "Who was that?" And she said, "The manager" and I said, "I could've sworn you told me you were the manager and you didn't even mention the DVD names or anything, they wouldn't even know what you are talking about and they would have told you to scan one of them, which you STILL haven't done."
She didn't have an answer for me, so I called the police. While I went to talk to the police, she grabbed the whole stack and went to the corner room and you could hear her shuffling boxes around. She walked out without them and she clearly was hiding them for herself.
The officers asked her what was going on and asked her why she wouldn't sell them to me. They kept questioning her and she was straight up LYING TO THE POLICE!!!
She said she rung all the movies up and it wouldn't let me sell them to me. I said she was lying and they asked to see one of the movies scanned, she refused.
She said she had to send them back to the supplier. Within a minute, she told the officer that she had to throw them away.
Within 20 minutes her story went from: -Yes, I can sell you these, hand me the rest so I can buy some after I get off work. -They are $1 a piece. -Sorry, I can't sell you anymore of these. -I have to send these back. -I have to throw them away. -You can come back tomorrow and try.

Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis DG is AWFUL! They play foul music (music with the f word and songs that talk about climbing on top of a man for the purpose of sex) and they 100% do not care if it offends. I asked them to turn that music off when I was in the store bc of how vulgar and disgusting it was, and they did, with apology. BUT! The next time I went to the store they had the same vulgar/foul music on and when they saw me, the manager yelled for a team member to go and turn it off. And she did. So basically, they donāt care who hears it and plan to keep playing it, unless I walk in the door. Disgusting. They are also completely unhelpful. When I have questions about the cost of something that they have rung up, they basically stare at me with this āI donāt know what to tell youā stareā¦.. the manager just ignores the situation all together. Will NEVER GO HERE AGAIN! Do yourself a favor and drive down to the DG on Hwy 78 in Loganville. Itās SO MUCH BETTER AND THEIR...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWORST DOLLAR GENERAL AROUND! Do not go to this location if you expect or want to be treated well. Spend your hard earned money at other locations. RUDE staff, cashiers either hate their jobs or have attitudes that can make one feel as though they are a "bother". Manager is lacking professionalism & people skills! Waited over 20 minutes for one item to be checked out! Line was held up by customer who wanted "to see the manager", who had to be called 3 times to come up front. When I asked, nicely, the cashier if someone else could help with checking the customers out, her response was, "nah", then she rolled her eyes at me! I can guess that is supposed to be interpreted as "no". Customers were lined up 7 deep behind me & some left their merchandise & walked out. I called the corporate office and filed a formal complaint. I will NOT go back to Store # 12581. Good luck if...
