My sister’s husband was highly interested in Squarena during our vacation to Encinitas. I was a bit skeptical, but so glad we went! We had both families in one room (4 adults and 4 children) and it was a lot of fun trying to work together through the levels. I’ve found most escape rooms to be more of a follow the leader (or the alpha) activity. This was so much more. Everyone is trying to work together to tap out blue squares while avoiding red squares (that move). There is so much ground to cover that we had to work together and take on different areas of the arena. It was so much fun and our families definitely bonded over the activity. I would highly recommend Squarena!

Fun for the whole family, our kids didn't want to leave! We took our 5 and 8-year-old to Squarena in Solana Beach. It's such a unique concept -- a giant interactive digital playground that kept both of our kids fully engaged (and burning off tons of energy!) for well over an hour. The games and activities are creative, immersive, and super kid-friendly. It felt safe, clean, and well-run, which gave us peace of mind as parents. Bonus: since it's indoors, this is the perfect option for rainy days or when you need a break from the park or beach. Highly recommend for families looking for something fun and a little different in North County.

Definitely gonna be the new it thing to do in San Diego!! Went with some friends and we had so much fun. Literally can be for all ages, little kids to adults like us breaking a sweat and strategizing through puzzle games and making a competition out of it. So much more fun and more worth it than escape rooms because it feels like the whole party is able to enjoy it equally. Im definitely coming back.

Absolutely OBSESSED with Squarena!!! This place is a total blast from start to finish! If you’re looking for somewhere that’s equal parts chaos, creativity, and pure joy, look no further. Squarena is the kind of place that makes kids light up the second they walk in… and honestly, adults too.

The wall-to-wall fun interactive lights and music makes the whole place feel like stepping inside a kid’s dream world. It’s bright, it’s colorful, it’s non-stop energy in the best way possible.

It’s smart, fun, super engaging activities that keep kids moving, thinking, laughing, and totally immersed. You’ll leave wondering where the time went… and your kid will probably beg to come back the second you hit the car.

Also, big shoutout to the staff. They’re so friendly, helpful, and totally in the spirit of fun. Whether it’s a birthday party, a weekend adventure, or just a random treat-yourself kind of day, Squarena nails it every time.

10/10 would recommend. Fun for the little ones, a surprising amount of fun for the grown-ups, and hands down one of the coolest kid-focused spots out there. Go once, and you’ll...

Visited for Father’s Day, I can honestly say it was one of the best family activities we’ve done in a longtime. I think it beats any of the theme parks in the area. Getting there was super easy, plenty of parking, and the space is brand new, clean, and the tech is top notch.

We got the 8 person room for 4 kids, 3 adults, and a grandparent. Kids were 2 to 8 - even the 2 year old liked it.

I liked how the game was setup as us against the machine and how it started easy and each level up got a little harder. There were no fights amongst the kids because they were not competing against each other but rather working as a team to beat the level. Kids were sweating a lot and burning up that energy.

I had so much fun I want one of these machines in my garage!! The staff was great and made us feel at home. I am coming back every time we get visits and booking this place for the next...

We had an awesome time doing this as a family, but would be an awesome birthday party or even team event for adults. Feels like you are in a video game running and jumping to avoid the red squares and collect all the blue squares. Though if you're in a group some members can do more walking and take a less physical approach staying near the always "safe" green squares. Be sure to take a moment to understand the movement pattern of the red squares to pass the levels. We played both modes: a clear all the blue squares as fast as possible without losing your available "lives" stepping of red squares, or the puzzle mode of figuring out how to tap a few blue squares without touching even one red squares. The blend of strategy, teamwork, and exercise in each was super fun....
