Meijer — Local services in Solon Township

Thing is, I love Meijer! However, this store is all out of whack as far as the layout. I get that they are rearranging their stores and it’ll take a bit to get used to but the groceries in here are spread out in no particular fashion. For instance, walk in the East entrance and take a left and there’s coolers of fresh items. You’d think milk and cream would be near here but they aren’t, so you go to the back of the store, where there’s coolers for beer, and non refrigerated drinks along with coffee and mixers. Still no milk or creamer. You then head west past all the groceries, past housewares, and kitchen items, then past the coolers of frozen goods, and finally milk and cream all in a section of coolers. Coffee creamer? Nope not in these coolers, you have to continue West where they sit at the end of a cooler. Why weren’t all the coolers and freezers put in the same place? Also isn’t milk a fresh item? Why must I pass non grocery items to get to more grocery items? The layout just doesn’t make sense.

Is it a clean store with friendly employees and quality items? Yes, and that’s where the 3...

This was the first time I was in a Meijer. I went in because they had a lot of good advertised bargains. My first impression is that their everyday prices were a little high, but their specials were great and they seemed to be of a decent quality.

I'm editing to add the main thing I don't like is not enough power carts. This is especially a problem because this area seems to have a lot of older people like myself.

Edited to add: Three months later I've become more or less a regular shopper there.

This Memorial day week they have a lot of nice sales going on. July 25, 2025, I went in late on a Friday afternoon. They weren't super busy, but they seemed to be struggling to keep you with some of the specials. They also had a sign up on July 25 saying they were struggling to get certain things. Not happy with my visit here. Ivan the manager and his employees are rude! I walked in with my puppy I just picked up because it was raining outside and couldn’t leave my windows down. I had to grab bottles for my daughter then I was gone. He and 2 other employees approached me very rudely. They said I had to leave because it wasn’t a service dog. So I ask “ what makes my dog different from a service dog?” My dog was not causing any commotion at all! Ivan replied “ I don’t know, it’s just the rules” I replied to Ivan “so are you and your other employees aware of the rules you guys are all breaking?” He replied “no? The rules?” I say “yes the mandate that your great governor and president say you should all be wearing a mask” he had nothing to say.
