I had to change my review of this place. I used to eat here all the time but I don't work in the area anymore. I did happen to be driving north on US 131 last week, and I thought hey I love A&W ill go and stop there. What a mistake. I pull up to the drive through window and place an order. I pull around and there is a car at the window. It takes 3 or 4 minutes to complete their order and for the line to move. When I get to the window there are all kinds of posters saying "work today get paid today". I even made mention to the woman at the window. She then asks me what I ordered.. I tell her again an A1 (your most basic burger with fries and a root beer). I watch her put my order in(mind you I was only 1 of 2 cars in line when this started 5 minutes ago). She then hands me my rootbeer and asks me to pull forward to the end of the building. There was no one in line behind me and the time was 9:09 pm. I sat at the end of the building with our 1 other car coming through the line until 9:22. At which point I backed up to the window looking for SOMEONE to help me. I couldn't see anyone for about a minute. Then a young man comes into view and turns his back on me. I then taped the horn. NO response. So then I laid on the horn for about 10 seconds until someone opened the window. I told the same lady that took my money that I had waited long enough and I would like my money back. She leaves to get the manager who is very young. She comes up and wants to argue with me. She says "what's the problem here" I explain that I have been waiting for a burger for about 20 minutes. She says "well 'we have been busy making it, its almost done don't you want it?" I said 'no at this point I don't want it I want my money back" she says" well it's done now what am I supposed to do with it?" I said " I don't really care, at this point. That was way to long for me to sit waiting on a burger. The next few words are are hard to remember (I do have a dash camera that recorded it all. I've watched it several times but can't make out the words. I finally got my money back when i said "ma'am are you going to give me my money back or are you going to steal it? Because that is what you are doing right now. If you want to steal it I can call the sheriff. I mean right now you've taken my money and given me nothing, so I think that would be stealing!" Then the charming young lady gave me back my money. Needless to say I won't be back. 20 great experiences washed away by that bad experience. That was about the worst experience I have ever had at a fast food place. If your reading this..the...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I came here to have lunch on Tuesday, July 15th, around 1:30 p.m., since we had a long drive home from our camping trip (3 hours), and we have never had A&W before. This was our first and last time that we will be coming back to this location. While the food tasted alright, the lady at the cashier register was NOT very pleasant to speak with, and she kind of had an attitude. She would make smart remarks to other customers who were before us, and they were unprofessional remarks as well. While he and I ordered, she would'nt let us order because she was constantly running her mouth with an attitude. Taking our order (which was 2 burgers, 2 curds, and 2 drinks), it took around 7 to 8 minutes when it should have taken maybe 60 seconds at most, and the line was getting long. I could tell the couple behind us were very annoyed. Once we were finally done ordering, I went to grab part of my payment out of my pocket. The lady said, "Oh... she's paying, huh? Men usually pay." That made both me and my boyfriend very uncomfortable and very agitated. I get that maybe she was joking around, but her attitude and nastiness could use some fixing up. It is one thing to joke, but it is another thing to make a rude, smartass remark about who pays when she physically saw my boyfriend pull out a $20 bill and hand it to me to pay, and I grabbed a $20 out of my pocket. Since we felt unwelcome and the dining room was dirty, we decided to eat our lunch in our vehicle.
As a former fast food worker of 4 years and in management in fast food of 2 years (now I work in retail), you guys need to seriously train the cashiers and employees on how to talk to their customers. I get that you may joke a little bit with customers, but you still need to remain professional and respectful. Normally, I don't leave reviews like this, but I felt that this needed to be said.
Also, the location itself is very confusing. We have never seen two different restaurants merged into the same building with food coming out of the same kitchen. My boyfriend and I were so confused, and again, the cashier was NOT very helpful either.
We were also very disappointed when we tried to order ice cream because THEY WERE OUT! The cashier said that their ice cream machine was broken and they ran out. Again, she said it with an attitude. We ended up making another stop to McDonald's to ice cream since it was a hot day, and we were hot from camping.
But I will say one thing positive...at least their root beer was DELICIOUS!
Like I said, this was our first time, and it'll for sure be...
Read moreAttempted to go through the drive through Saturday, August 16 around 10pm only to be met with the most inpatient human being I hope I ever have to encounter ever again. Not only did this chick try to rush us through by repeatedly asking us if we were ready to order yet and us telling her no (no joke every 10 seconds or so she would ask us and each time she got louder when she’d ask) My boyfriend and I couldn’t even think because she wouldn’t stop asking us so much and then the last time she literally YELLED at us.
Mind you, there was nobody in front of us or behind us. My boyfriend even told her to not ask again and she completely ignored what he said. People like her shouldn’t be working places like that cuz I’m gonna tell you what, she’s gonna cross the wrong person on a bad day and it’s not gonna end well. We ended up going across the parking lot to...
