Solon Community Center — Local services in Solon

We are deeply grateful to David Peleg and the Solon Community Center for opening their doors and giving us free access to all meeting rooms to host our daughter Maya’s Celebration of Life. Maya had worked at the Rec Center throughout high school, so it truly was her second home — and her co-workers were like family to her.

David was our rock through the entire process — always calm, always supportive, and quietly taking care of every detail like a true pillar of strength. From orchestrating drop-offs and ensuring the facilities were ready to welcome 150+ guests, to making sure there were no technology glitches, and even having his team handle the clean-up afterwards — he made everything seamless.

Very nice facility. Rock wall, baby sitting, exercise, multiuse/meeting rooms. I went here for a birthday party, the room was very hot even after they were informed of the issue. I was also hassled by the old man (seemed to be in charge) working the front desk. He made it a point to ask me several times what I was doing/what my business was at the rec center, even after seeing me in the halls at the front desk previously. His tone an attitude were...

Pros:

Nice facilities; Nice indoor and outdoor pool; Nice equipment.

Cons:

Closes very early (6pm on weekends and 9:30pm on weekdays); When they close, they CLOSE. I find the staff to be a bit aggressive with this in mind.

Update:

Now closes at 5 on weekends, 8 on Friday, and 9 Monday - Thursday. This place is a bit too geared for early risers (opens at 5:30 am) and is otherwise not very accessible. Subtracting...
