Howard Park Ice Skating — Local services in South Bend

Well I showed up 10 mins late to the 90 minute session and earlier that day had paid the lady for our skates. She didn't give us a receipt I started to worry and the guys couldn't find my name anywhere. so I had to go in the office where finally they found it and then I had to lace three kids skates plus my own and there was like 6 employees just talking in a huddle lime way and iam struggling to hurry so they can enjoy it a little before it's over. Wish they could have helped and they acted like they didn't know what sizes we needed mine were a little big but I didn't have time to exchange them. Then I had 3 kids that's never been ice skating and all the walkers were gone so I had to wait for 2. Finally kids were ready but soon got frustrated because they couldn't get it they just turned6 and 7. So here I am pushing one for like 40 sec and letting go watching it coast while I skated the wrong way through the traffic to grab the other child to push them and repeated this tell we saw the exit out of the rink . I was exhausted from that alone I took them to the park instead. It would have been worth the money if there was an adult for every child but since I am a single mother it wasn't possible to have both kids on the ice. Wish there was like an ice stroller the stroller could be pushed and have seats where the kids can sit so they could have stayed on the ice and enjoyed the ride . Prices were great but not when you do one lap and see it's not going to work with two kids and you are done skating. They don't allow you to have a birthday party indoor unless you pay 50 and for 90 mins just to open presents I passed. Felt like the kids and I was robbed in every way from having an enjoyable expierence. I should have been refunded. Probably won't be back either. Not until my kids grow up some...

The ice skating experience is great! Love the park and the rink/course. Most of the staff is very helpful and friendly, especially the younger team members who give out the skates. But if you need help with something from the receptionist desk and Priscilla is working, I recommend you just forget it and walk away. She was not only unwilling to listen to me or help me, she was incredibly rude and nasty towards me. If it weren’t for the other staff members stepping in to help me after my interaction with Priscilla, I can guarantee I would never be back to ice skate here again and would be telling others to avoid as well. First time here and the staff was rude and clearly didn’t know what was going on. My family and I showed up not knowing you need a reservation. We chose to wait a hour and half.

When we showed up the same staff I spoke with that supposedly set up the reservation couldn’t find it. The staff held onto the skates at the counter and said to speak with someone else and come back. I was finally given tickets and when I returned to the skate counter I was told you get back in line which had grown around the corner of the building.

Why was I responsible for the staffs mistakes and confusion…
