Last night's visit to Shawn and Lisa Todd's charming eatery was a delightful experience from start to finish. We arrived a tad early for our reservation, but Shawn greeted us warmly and seated us without a hitch. His personable approach made us feel right at home! The culinary highlight for my friend was the meatballs—robust in flavor, though a bit denser than usual. Shawn personally explained that they use all meat with no fillers, a testament to their commitment to quality. As for me, the Bao Tacos were a revelation! The meat was succulent, perfectly paired with a scrumptious sauce that hinted at Korean inspirations, all wrapped in a soft, pillowy bao. We particularly enjoyed the ambiance of community and sharing, accentuated by the restaurant's concept of sharable plates. The bruschetta boards and charcuterie were not only delicious but also a fun way to enjoy a meal together. Both Shawn and Lisa made it a point to chat with us before we left, enhancing the warm and welcoming environment. With reasonable prices and perfectly portioned dishes, this restaurant is a gem that promises great food and a friendly atmosphere where everyone feels welcomed. Can't wait to return and sample more of their delightful offerings!

I typically post a review if I absolutely love a place and here is one. Our server Alysa was very personable and helpful. I explained we were at a hotel and would prefer white wine with a screw top for convenience. She actually checked the wine ‘cellar’ to tell me what was available. We decided on a bottle of Pinot Grigio and it was a good choice. My husband’s ‘Adult Mac & Cheese’ with sausage was delicious especially with a side of glazed carrots. My Chicken Shawarma was very good and VERY spicy. Obviously, I needed ice cream for dessert! The shot of Baileys Irish Cream to pour over didn’t hurt either. ha! This is a restaurant I’ll recommend to anyone going to South Bend.

First time trying this place. We tried a few bruschetta boards, a sandwich, and the pasta. My husband had the Jefferson Blvd Old Fashioned, and he said it was amazing. We tried the Sliced Apple board, and it was but dry. Not much brie or fig spread. I had the Turkey Jam sandwich, same thing, good, but dry. You have a good thing going with the fig spread, but you can barely tell it's there. My husband said the sauce in his pasta was runny, and it was. So, obviously, this prioritizes the wine bar atmosphere, it does, and has great ambiance. Definitely catered to social groups. We would come again. Note: We came after a ND home game, and the place filled up quick.

We wandered in after walking downtown tonight, and it was an AMAZING meal.

The Italian salad was a great size to share for three people and the veggies were super fresh and delicious. We then shared three sandwiches among us, and they were all winners. Unique and classic at the same time and the flavors were absolutely on point. I think the pesto chicken was my favorite, but the steak chimichuri and turkey jam weren't far behind.

My one complaint and the reason I dropped a star was because of the sandwich sides. They serve all sandwiches (the predominant menu item) with a side of pretzels. To be clear, I mean like Rold Gold twists, not anything fresh or made in house. While I love the idea of a non-fried side, and I think they would be a great offering among a couple, I have two big issues: 1) they aren't substantive, so they kinda feel like an afterthought on the plate, and 2) they don't really fit the vibe of everything else in the restaurant. Something like a fruit or a bean salad or slaw or something would make a lot more sense and make the entrees a lot more satiating.

We will definitely be back to try more of the wines (there is a flight option I have my eye on for maximum sampling) and they have an extensive bruschetta menu that...

We recently held our team outing at The Cellar with a group of 30 people, and we had pre-selected nearly every item off of your catering menu. We wanted to commend your team because every single item was exceptionally good. Our team members haven't stopped talking about the delicious potatoes, as well as the flatbreads and desserts, which were all big hits.

Beyond the fantastic food, the service was truly outstanding. Your servers were professional, observant, and incredibly efficient throughout the evening. We've organized several team outings in the past, and I can confidently say that this was, by far, the easiest event to manage. It was incredibly refreshing to have everything so well taken care of, allowing us all to simply relax and enjoy the evening.

Lisa and Shawn, your hand-on approach and dedication to ensuring a seamless experience truly made a difference. We highly reommend The Cellar Wine Bar & Kitchen to any company looking to host a wonderful event and have a great time wtih their team. We will absolutely be back for future gatherings. Thank you again to the entire team at The Cellar for a...
