The owner was extremely rude to me and wanted me out simply for looking around in his store. I went in for the first time yesterday to see what was in his store after working out next door. I wasn’t sure whether I was going to get something that night. I was indecisive. The next day after my workout, I went in more convinced I was going to get something, but then the owner rudley stopped me, questioned what I was looking for and why I was looking around. I told him you can’t know what’s in a store without looking around. He said, “Well, you did that yesterday.”
After he said this, along with the strict glare he gave me, I immediately felt unwelcomed, so I left offended and hurt.
I don’t know what his peoblem is with new customers. Apparently, a person is only welcome in his store if he or she buys something, the rest are stopped, interrogated, and encouraged out the door. Apparently, when you walk in, you have 5 minutes to decide what you want before the owner questions you with an unwelcomed glare.
I consider him very unprofessional from this. I’ve shopped around tons of vendors. All were very welcoming. All encouraged me to look around. (Because they’re smart enough to know that by customers doing this, they spot and remember what’s in their store before they return and buy something).
There were many occasions where I scoped the entirety of a store without buying anything the first look-around. But then I came back buying multiple things, returning regularly—and then telling others about it.
This man was extremely rude and unprofessional and I have never encountered anyone quite like him. I’ve never been treated this way before and I was just utterly shocked—and disappointed. I was very likely to get something that day, and maybe even return on occasion for the convience and prices. But after how I was treated today, I have to say I’m very disappointed and hurt.
In the future, this owner should more kind and welcoming towards new visitors. He shouldn’t judge them. He shouldn’t assume they’re window shoppers. He should welcome them in with kindness every time he or she walks in the door—because he never knows what profit and friendship he might encounter with this new curious customer.
To reiterate and emphasize, I am very disappointed with my experience in this store with this owner. I am hurt, offended, and have never felt more unwelcome here than anywhere else I’ve...
Read moreI really like this place. The man who's usually there is very nice and helpful. I only give 4 stars becuz of a bad experience I had with the indian woman. I think she's his wife. I paid with a credit card. My card usually works so fast. Even told that to the man. So she's standing there with all these receipts in her hand I just assumed she had mine as well. I walked out. The customer that was behind me chases me down in the parking lot. Hey lady! Your card didn't work! And she's standing at the door. I was so embarrassed! I walk back in telling her Oh I'm sorry. I thought it went thru. And she tells me rudely, No it didn't. That's why you need to wait. Um. Ok. You're standing there taking your time with a bunch of receipts in your hand. Excuse me. I rarely go back now. I found another liquor store near Publix. It's sad cuz Bengal's is right up the street from me. If I do go I only use cash and wait for the man in the afternoon when I know he's there. He really gives good customer service. I buy gluten free vodka and he remembered me. When they didn't have any of the brand i wanted I chose something else and he told me, Did we run out of the other? Oh no let me show u another brand. I don't want u to settle. That was nice. I told him before I am a working professional. I just like my drink. I'm not a low life drunk or something. Which is how that lady treated me that day. I still recommend this place. The lady is pretty nice. Just make sure your card...
Read moreI've lived and bartended in Daytona since 2007. I have seen ABC come and go along with so many others that I could never remember all the names and locations. Hands down, no question, no-one compairs or comes close to this place. Incredible variety of Liquor and Wine to LITTERALLY fit any budget, and a small bottle sample wall. On top of that some of, if not, the cheapest tobacco products and smoking accessories ( my cigarettesare $4.25 a pack). A great variety of alternative entertainment products. A Scratch Off lovers dream (a whole wall). On top of this all, THE BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE AROUND, no one else comes even remotely close in knowledge or friendliness. No wonder the place is packed Thursday through Sunday. On top of that when busy, there is present people for security purposes to keep things safe, and the parking lot clean and clear of vagabonds, and an escort to help bring heavy purchases to your car, and a constant restocking of shelves and coolers. The only critique I would give is the small beer selection. Boy it sure would be nice if they would fill those coolers with local, regional, and state brewed beers, as NO ONE else does and would be a great draw for them as beer drinkers dont tend to go into liquor stores just Walmart where they're...
