I started working with the great folks at Labosco's II over a week ago, trying to pick up a beautiful black Epiphone Les Paul Standard guitar for my best friend, and due to some crazy circumstances, totally on my end of the deal, I wasn't able to close the deal last week as planned with them. I kept them informed of the Series of Unfortunate Events that I was experiencing, and when I finally got everything right on my end, I called them at 4:55 Yesterday afternoon, 1/12/23, and asked if the Epiphone was still available, and if so, would they still make the same deal as we agreed on a week earlier. I was speaking to Dana, who remembered the details, told me the beauty was still there, and yes, the deal would be the same. I told him I was riding a bike from 5 miles away, but that I'd be there before closing time...he said "we'll come on then, we'll get it done today. I left at 5:06, and rode 4.7 miles in just under 25 minutes, against a strong wind all the way. When I saw Dana, he said "Wow, that was quick!" He already had the guitar behind the counter, and he gave me two extra upgrades for the same $$, and actually less than our original deal. Not only was I shocked, but extremely pleased as well. I can't thank Dana and Labosco's II more for making what had turned into a mess for me, into a real pleasure!! Love this place, these guys are legit people, not trying to get every penny from you, but often, giving above and beyond what's expected, to give their customers a 5â buying experience!! Many thanks and God bless your business!!!
P.S. My best friend was extremely pleased with the new axe, rock on...
Read moreBeen going here for years, nothing but good things to say about this place! Always helpful and fair priced. Great selection of music gear, electronics, etc.
My most recent experience was great! Came in towards closing time (I came in at 5:05 and thought they were open until 6) and there was a few other people in there. Was greeted nicely and not a "hey we're closed" and trying to rush me out vibe.
Guy at the counter asks if I was looking for anything in particular. Indeed, I was! A 5 string bass guitar. So then, like a mystical wizard, he disappeared into the back room and reappeared with an epic 5 string bass guitar! I cannot gurantee that the back room contains everything you go in there looking for, but in this case, it did.
The mystical wizard, name of Severin Schlyter (badass name, definitely a wizard or villain of some sort, but an awesome villain, one you'd root for), answered my questions about the bass, let me try it out, great experience. It was nice asking questions and getting solid answers and feedback and not being rushed out (I didn't know I was there past closing time until I bought the guitar).
Also, that being said, they close at 5 on Saturdays. I try to not be that guy that shows up right at closing but in this case I'm glad it worked out!
I view this place as an actual music store with knowledged employees and fair prices, not your typical pawn shop deal. 5 stars!
Thank you again...
Read moreJust took the 2nd of my two acoustic guitars there to be restrung. This time I had my own recently purchased strings for Cordoba C5, manufacturer recommended, a brand of strings they do not carry. Called, asked if they would restring with strings I purchased elsewhere. No problem I was told and they would reduce the charge since they did not have to provide strings. Brian returned guitar to me nicely cleaned up and he offered to re-tune before I left. Same day service too. I have a Snark tuner (they carry Snark tuners too-always good to know-best tuner available) so I am able to tune guitar myself. These boys run an amazing operation. Professional manner (always feel like I am dealing with a high end lawyer who tunes guitars-very middle class interface-great grammar-unfailingly polite ). Highly recommended for any music buff. Would feel safe in buying any product from them. Musical or otherwise. And one feels respected in this environment. Another plus in a "pawn shop". I've never pawned anything (lucky middle class white girl who had a lot handed to her) but am certain if you were down on your luck and in a crisis these gentleman would treat you well. Civility and respect and truth/honesty in business go a long way in these troubled times. Thanks Brian and LaBosco. Great business model for...
