Terrible service and terrible flowers! I don’t know how Debi gets such great reviews after the experience I had. Apparently she doesn’t know how to deal with complaints. My brother in Florida sent me flowers for my birthday. They were delivered on a Thursday and by Tuesday the following week, they were dead. I called Debi’s Designs and it went to voicemail twice. So I left a message late Tuesday afternoon. I called her again Wednesday afternoon since she didn’t return my call. She said she got my message and reviewed my order. She didn’t say why she didn’t call and I didn’t ask and I wondered if she even planned on calling me back. But she said one of the flowers (I don’t recall the name of it) only lasts a few days. That was a surprise to me because I’ve never had flowers last only a few days. Why would anyone sell flowers that only last a few days? She also said that Asiatic lilies and roses only last about 5 days, which isn’t true. I’ve had roses last more than a week and have had lilies last about 2 weeks from other florists. Maybe hers only last 5 days. If that’s the case I don’t know why she doesn’t get more complaints and bad reviews. She said if I would’ve called the day after I received them, then she would’ve replaced them. Why would I call the next day when they didn’t start wilting or dying until a few days later? I also told her that I work too and have a hard time making calls during the day since she closes before I get off work. She said that’s not an excuse and repeated it several times and talked over me. I mentioned that I bought flowers from Jewel a week and a half ago and they were still thriving and she told me she was offended by that comment. I told her the only reason I brought it up is because I take care of flowers by trimming the stems and changing the water. So the reason for her flowers dying wasn’t because I wasn’t taking care of them. And I told her I was disappointed that flowers that came from a florist died so quickly. I thought they would’ve lasted longer than flowers from Jewel. She told me she gets great reviews from all her customers. Then she became very rude and loud. I told her she was horrible. She said I was horrible and told me to never call her again and hung up. I’ve never had that bad of an experience with any other business. I wasn’t yelling or angry or swearing. I was very calm until she raised her voice. I’ve never had flowers die on me that quickly and wanted her to know. But I guess she doesn’t care if any customers are unhappy because she has enough customers that give her great reviews. Terrible way to run a business! Read moreUPDATE: Per my request, I received a call from Debi the day after I requested delivery. Debi stated that they tried to deliver the order but the recipient was not home and could not be reached by phone. I asked why I (the customer) was not contacted to let me know there was an issue and Debi stated that they had other deliveries and it was towards the end of the day (5:00pm. I had requested a morning delivery, I understand no guarantee). Debi further stated that their policy is to not leave the delivery at the door, even with customer approval. I searched their website, specifically looking under Delivery Policy, and there is nothing I could find that says they will not leave the order at the door. Debi is refunding my money.
I have been ordering flowers for years from a florist in Chicago who will deliver to the suburbs for a reasonable cost. I thought I would try a local florist in my daughter's area to send her flowers for her birthday. I ordered 3 days ahead of time and today, her birthday, no flowers arrived. I called and emailed to find out what is going on with the delivery and no response as of now. I am now requesting a refund and hope this issue will be resolved.

An elderly friend had been in the hospital dealing with a battery of diagnostic tests for three days, and then returned home -- shaken, exhausted, and in need of comfort, rest, and hope. The solution: Debi's Designs!!! She quickly created two lovely arrangements and loaded them curbside. It was fun delivering the arrangements -- a large wicker basket full of glossy plants and cheerful fresh flowers (a petite sunflower, daisies, poms) for the patient and a smaller version in a cute galvanized can for her daughter who lives with her. Their faces lit up, smiles beaming as they examined the colorful gifts. We sat on the front porch, enjoying the flowers, beautiful weather, and each other's company -- masks and all.
