We've done business with Coconis for years. I don't know what has happened, but our office furniture was delivered badly damaged. There was no wrapping of any sort or furniture blankets, nothing at all to protect the furniture. We would have sent them right back with a whole office of furniture if we didn't need it immediately. The delivery boys were sweet enough, while they were scurrying around with their stain markers, but you can't use a stain marker on a corner of a lateral file literally ripped of...huge piece. Now, we can't open file drawers and little screws are flying out onto the floor and we can't even tell where they came from. Two weeks ago, we called for repairs. They told us that they couldn't schedule us for two weeks and we made the appointment for 10:00 am, Thursday, July 23, 2015. We make sure we are in the office and they are a no-show. We never got the phone call the day before or this morning to confirm. We call, nobody has any answers until we get to speak to a gentleman named Mark. The first words out of his mouth was, "First, tell me where this 10:00 appointment came from?" Really? Then he tells me, in no uncertain terms, with no respect, that we are mistaken, that he doesn't do appointments like that and that we are scheduled in a 2 hour window from 12 to 2. I explained to him that both my husband and I made the appointment and it's in our calendar. This rude man told me again that I'm mistaken and it's too bad. No apology for the mix up. And let me be very clear, the mix up is Coconis's and probably Mark's. Now, I wasn't rude to him at all, but I certainly wanted to be. We are done with Coconis. I don't know if there are new policies about customer service or what. Like...there doesn't have to be any? Our house is furnished by Coconis. If we had the finances available, I would have a...
Read moreWe recently purchased a sofa and two chairs at Coconis. The furniture was the "Flexsteel" brand, and the total price was close to $3000. It turns out that the folks at Coconis were more eager to make the sale than to tend to the 'little things' after the sale that mean so much to customers. First of all, the delivery arrived more than 90 minutes beyond the promised 4-hour window that had been scheduled (perhaps not a big deal, but it meant that I had to reschedule an appointment with a customer of mine). Secondly, since the drivers were running late they were apparently too busy to attach the support leg that goes in the middle of the sofa -- meaning that I had to locate someone to help me with the job, since I didn't want to risk damaging my new sofa by using it without the support. Finally -- and most annoying -- the covers for the armrests for both the sofa and chairs had been cut too large by the factory, meaning that they didn't fit. Knowing that with the right equipment it would be a relatively easy task to cut them down and re-sow them, we called the lady who had sold us the furniture, to ask if she could arrange to have the arm covers re-cut. After consulting with her manager, she said that Coconis would be unwilling to help.
So, that's what happened. Perhaps nothing really earthshaking, but a red flag to me that if a really big problem ever did occur with an order, Coconis would have little or no interest in providing quality follow-up after a...
Read moreStopped in because we were in the market for a new couch and loveseat. Melissa greeted us and walked around with us. Explained to her that we did not want to spend a small fortune on couches while we still have children and pets in the home but obviously still something aesthetically pleasing. My wife and I finally agreed on a couch based upon our own individual likes. While looking at the particular set we chose on her computer we noticed that the loveseat was priced at 899 and the couch was priced at 699. Her reaction was to tell us, no that is not right, it has to be 899 and mentioned that she would call her marketing team to fix the error. I understand fully, what she must mean, but something rubbed me the wrong way. So I jumped on Ashley’s website. Found the loveseat and couch for 749 a piece. Thought okay, obviously stores like this will have markup and sales people don’t want to lessen their commission, but we appreciated the service we received from the Ashley store just down the road who had sent us to Coconis to have a larger selection, so we called her because it was an Ashley product, turns out it was not an error. And after hearing about our experience they decided to sell us both the couch and the loveseat for 699 a piece. So three stars for showing us where not to buy because knowledge...
