These guys came and installed a tankless water heater. Things went South. Next thing they are trying to get it right, but they just can’t. Swearing to me it’s all done right, and then having to admit they messed up. Oh, we did this incorrectly. This happened many times. After they were ‘done’ it has continued that things were found to have been done incorrectly. Like hooking up condensate line to the sewer, and without an air gap. Last week it was time to change the filter they put in that filters the tankless water heater. Oops. No way ti do that without creating an explosion! Oops, refused to put in a pressure relief valve that the brand of water heater expert TOLD them was required (yes Michael’s they said didn’t need a pressure relief valve!) Michael himself. Snorted that he be ‘told’ what was needed.
Then (Michael himself) they strong-armed me to pay for the errors. Finally that was backed away from. Admitting it wasn’t fair for me to pay for hours done doing things incorrectly!! But the mess!! The time!! The denials !! — I had to pitch a fit and then, sadly, pay them more than they deserved. Because how does a little woman manage against these guys? Argue? I tried that. Now to find out they actually did it -/All Wrong. And I’m having to pay to do it properly.
Which I’m happy to do. Because I now have an excellent excellent plumber on the task (we are remodeling our kitchen). I’ve had a really really great plumber out sent by my General Contractor.
These great plumbers are undoing the hideous mess under my home. Restoring my actual great pipes that Michael’s pipe guy cut up —and abandoned. ( which is not a good thing anyway, in that old water can fester in abandoned pipes ). — As a parting gift they didn’t insulate what they did install — install all wrong and needlessly. But they were so lazy and incompetent that they left all my ‘old’ pipes in place. All the piping they ‘abandoned’ for No Good Reason. Thankfully. They left them. As they are beautiful and are now re-hooked up. And working PERFECTLY. Finally hot water —everywhere. Almost instantly.
I can’t tell you how protracted the problems were. These guys, including the principals, !! are not who you want to hire. — Simply...
Read moreThis is a story of 3 plumbing companies. Michaels being the #3, or third company that came to our house to unclog our main line from the house to the city sewer. #1 company broke off their clean out cable in our drain and never told us. He said no charge because his machine wasn't big enough to clear the drain. But it broke the cable in half? The second company, #2, came out and ran their cable down the drain with no head on the cable. Kind of like using a toothbrush with no bristles on it. Not very effective. They did not discover the broken cable or clear the drain. Kind of like using a toothbrush with bristles. Jerry from Michaels plumbing came out and saved the day. He found the leftover piece of cable and cleared the drain pretty easily and was extremely pleasant and professional the entire time he was at our home. The charge was considerably less than plumber #2 that didn't complete the job. I would definitely recommend Michael's to others for their plumbing services. I have had no experience with their HVAC service, though I'm sure they're just a good on that side of the...
Read moreThe receptionist Brittany was awesome, but unfortunately everything went down hill from there. The owner was kind and refunded our money, but the HVAC manager, Phil, was condascending to me and tried to take advantage of my parents. Long story short, he quoted $350 to repair a unit under warranty that was installed by the company. After calling the manufacturer and being referred to Reno Heating and Air, we got the unit fixed for $0 additional fees. As a matter of fact, it turns out the $109 diagnostic was reimbursable under the warranty too. Something Phil failed to tell us. The manager did refund the $109 and promised to connect with the manufacturer to get a better understanding of the warranty. I appreciate that, but Phil's mysogynistic attitude and condascending explanation of fees will keep us from giving them our business...
