Josh, Sean, and David, employees at the store, are three exceptional young men that need to be recognized by their company. Sorry it took this long to write this. Back in October, we were heading back from my daughter's winning Carolina's Best youth category. 30 minutes from the Crown arena we realized we left the diaper bag in the parking lot and returned to find it gone. Someone stole our diaper bag. What a shame! We get back on the road and just before reaching the Food Lion, I hear a noise coming from the back of the van. We pull into a lot, only to find a huge screw in my back tire. I tried to drive on it but there was no way I could. I could have pulled into any of the lots near the main road but the Lord said otherwise and I drove all the way into the Food Lion parking lot. I started getting my spare off. I got it off to find it needed a lot of air. I see this guy standing outside of the store and I yell over to him about where I can find air. He just got off of work and tells me he has air. He drives his vehicle over to ours and then a couple other employees who just got off came over to help. They find I have a bad valve stem on the spare. They unscrew the screw only to find it did not go through all the way and it was not losing air which was a miracle because it was a nasty screw. They spent close to an hour helping me out and talking with us. They were exceptionally polite and it was truly a blessing to meet them. I pray nothing but the best for these young men and I am confident they know what that means. Josh, Sean, and David, thanks again. You were a part of God working in our lives that night. We will always remember you guys and what you did to help us out after getting off of work, when most would want to rush home. We made it home safe and I am still driving on the same tire and had my...
Read morethey have most everything you need, but the prices aren't very competitive. They try to sneak by you by making it seem like a great deal to use your MVP card to get a discount when really they are just dropping the price down to what you would pay at Wal-Mart, and not everything qualifies for MVP discount. It helps to compare pricing. It's not really much to complain about, though, because the convenience of a smaller store and having multiple locations helps to save time, which is sometimes worth the little extra money you pay. I do have to say the store is always clean and there are far more cashiers than Wal-Mart at a register at any given time... plus the cashiers normally like to have a pleasant conversation with you during checkout which makes the time seem to go by a little faster. Also I noticed they'll get the other customers behind you involved in the conversations so those customers aren't thinking to themselves, "ok that's nice y'all are chatting, NOW MOVE IT ALONG!" .... which is an awesome customer strategy Food Lion.... well played. My kids and I call this store Noil Doof, because it sounds silly and it's also Food Lion...
Read moreThis location is doing an extremely poor job at protecting its staff and customers during the pandemic. Today, the majority of staff were not wearing masks or practicing social distancing. I asked the cashier if they were not allowed to wear them and she said she chooses not to because they are uncomfortable. The manager was standing with her and explained he did not think they were effective and the staff were not provided any, beyond a single disposable when the pandemic first began. I took the time to discuss how the different masks work and both staff members expressed surprise, not knowing how they protected those around us. Then I had to ask the cashier to sanitize the card reader when I was done.... As I was leaving, a very pregnant mom and two toddlers were walking in—clearly going to be exposed to everyone in the store who doesn’t care enough to protect those around them. NOTE—WalMart on 87 is doing a great job with curbside pick up and that is how my family will be shopping until this is over. I strongly recommend NOT using this Food...
