IDEA Lab Kids (Spring Branch) — Local services in Spring Valley Village

My two sons, (David) 6 and (John) 8, just completed a week of spring break camp with Idea Lab Kids. I was recommended by my friend Sophia. They have attended idea lab kids for birthday parties and afterschool program. They always had good reviews about specially for the price to content or value for money. Its really really good priced for the type of camp and activities they offer. The are supper cheap compared to IDtech summer camps which we attended for one week last year. We live like two miles from the facility.

The experience definitely surpassed my expectations. The robotics and minecraft are probably one of the best camps they offer. They did offer chess program last year and i hope they bring it back. The teachers were fantastic: kind, enthusiastic and dedicated. The first day, one of the program coordinator even checked in with me about my son's eating habits and allergies as he hadn't eaten much lunch, so clearly they are paying attention. It is obvious to me that in addition to STEAM skills, they are teaching emotional intelligence skills and life skills. The boys enjoyed the crafts they did and the aftercamp board games they played. I highly recommend idealab for summer camps or spring break camps. Best way to get best value sign them up in Jan and also look for coupons they send it out. I attended birthday party weekend which really nice coordinated and motivated me to write this review. Just held my daughter’s 5th birthday party here. We combined shopkins and cooking birthday party. Perfect venue for the birthday for young kids. Idea Lab birthday venue ambience has changed quite a bit in last two years. For better now, its was a perfect venue for our birthday party very centrally located for my friends from katy to woodlands. The place is next to chinese restaurant

Enough seating and standing space for everyone to be comfortable. We were greeted by Ashley. We decided to make cupcakes for cooking and each kid was allowed to decorate them with their own style. Birthday party went very well. Some kids ended up in gym enjoying the basketball with Adam. We decided to use pinterest to get some ideas to customize the birthday party. The location was very convienent for lot of our Katy friends but if you are sugarland its too far. During the birthday party we realized they had computer science lab and art room. I think it can be perfect place for summer camp also. We have not done summer camp or afterschool STEM classes with Idea lab yet but it is something in my plan. I did check with the front desk but the summer camp schedule was not out yet. I think one suggestion to make birthday party fun one can use TV to show birthday kids picture growing from infant to toddler to boy. Over this place could be our best birthday party place in last 7 years. I have decided to sign up for Cooking class held on wednesday. Looking for it.

I can’t speak for other IDEA Lab Kids locations but the Spring Branch location is AWESOME!!! From day one I dealt with Warren, and he is phenomenal!!! He truly is! Customer service is his forte! In mid April I got a new job so I was scrambling trying to find aftercare that had space which also was affordable and interesting enough for my son. Warren worked with me beyond what I could have expected!

My son’s school bus was going to drop him off when no adult was present so he figured schedules out and made sure someone would be there but only Monday through Thursday. That was fine, and I started to figure out a solution safe for my son to wait outside until they arrived. A little later that week, Warren offered up another option, to have them go pick up my son at our school even though they don’t pick up at our school and it would throw off their schedule for picking up kids at the schools they did pick up at. Still, Warren went above and beyond to have my son safe with an adult at all times. I always forget the names of other two gentlemen and lady that work there but they’re also so very polite and great with kids.

I seriously can’t say enough about them! They are awesome! My son loves it there and he is begging to go back during the summer...
