Heather’s Gourmet Caramel Apples — Local services in Springboro

Beautiful & unique place. Having the opportunity for a wonderful baby shower was in our hopes. My sister/mom to be rented the place. I told her that I wished to take over from there and throw a baby shower for her. The baby shower was on 7/27/24. I called on 7/26/24 around 3-4 PM asking to come in early/if anything was booked before us. My sister had been told there was no charge for that and it would be fine if nothing else was booked before us (also nothing on contract). First call, I spoke with one of the employees there and she mentioned a $50 charge per hour if we were to come in earlier than our allotted time. We got off the phone and I left it at that because I was not doing that. I then received a second call from the owner, she offered me the chance to come in as early as I want even 9 AM before doors open for no charge at all. That was all told to tell me before mentioning that the actual time slot was from 12:30-3:30 and NOT 1-4 as my sister had told me & showed me what was on their contract (contract was originally 1-3 & she paid for an hour add on to make the party 1-4). All I could say was ‘oh’ as I was mortified thinking of how I would have to call 30+ people to tell them that the times had changed less than 24 hours before. I called my sister & we concluded that it was not plausible & we needed to follow the contract or we would reschedule/go somewhere else. My sister called & one of the employees answered & said that she would relay the message to Heather & she should hear back from her within the hour. My sister waited 2 hours before close & called again & the employee said Heather would reach out tomorrow before the party to settle matters. My sister & I showed up at 10 AM- she waited for Heather to speak with her & clear things up. I set up the party because we had no choice but to go on with it at this point. Nothing happened, the employees there had no messages to relay to us for Heather. (I do want to say that the two young employees there were very gracious & consistently offered their help & were showing us kindness which is why they are receiving two stars from me if I could only give those girls 5 stars, I would) The party came and was absolutely wonderful! guests were loving the shop & we were talking about future plans at the establishment. That all stopped when the owners husband came into the party room. He went on with roughly a half hour argument in the middle of the party room with my pregnant sister. He was repeatedly stating, ‘Show me your contract’ Rather than handling this in a professional manner-pulling someone off to the side (middle of the party room in front of all guests), giving them their time to speak (consistently cuts you off or laughs), & hearing where they are coming from. He didn’t look at a contract and seeing the truth before coming in there. His wife/Heather has access to all documents which is why he was demanding my sister/mom to be, for hers rather than letting her enjoy the rest of her baby shower. Once things settled and we are leaving. I was the last one out, the owner’s husband then comes up when things could’ve been left on good terms; puts blame on me for ‘agreeing’ to the new contract time when I had spoke with Heather the day before? He asks if I’m recording him to then say, “I went off on my wife because she sent me into a situation that I knew nothing of.”Oh and also blames it on my sister’s pregnancy brain? I only write this because what is clear is that they are okay with changing plans on not just our event but the event waiting after us less than 24 hours. For a man to come in heated “after he had to calm himself down” because he has to regularly deal with costumers being rude to the teen employees? **We were never rude to those girls, we apologized to them for being the middle man in all of this which is why an adult should be there. We’ve all been in costumer service related jobs & we know how it feels. But if that is a reoccurring issue why are those girls being left alone to run a store & to deal with the...

Absolutely terrible. My wife threw my sister in law a baby shower here. On July 26th my wife called to ask about coming in earlier. She was told no we would have to charge you (understandable). My wife was then told the blocked off time for the party was being pushed forward an hour. A contract was drwan up for the original time of 1 to 4. They wanted to push it up to 12 to 3 with less than 24 hour notice. My wife then called her sister. Her sister reached out to the store the teens that were working told SIL that Heather would reach out to her either that evening or first thing in the morning about the time slot. We did arrive early to speak to Heather at 10 am. Hather never showed up or called.we set up for the party and had the party. At about 315 pm the teens at the store came up to me and my wife and stated we had to be out by 330. SIL went to talk to the teens about the time frame. She told them she had a contract from 1 to 4 and that's when we will be leaving. Then roughly 15 mins later a unknown male arrived and was intimidating my wife and her sister. He stated things like I was so pissed off I had to calm down in the car before I came in. He demanded the mom to be to show she her contract. He stated that heather did call sil and sent emails but that was proven wrong. I asked him who he was and he stated a friend of the owner. That we need to leave immediately. We asked multiple times to speak with Heather and for them to show us the contract stating it was from 12 to 3. Laughing in sil face. We eventually found out this man was the husband of Heather. He did admit to it being thier fault that the time was messed up.He said his wife didn't give him all the info. He said that we did add an extra hour of time. He wasn't sure if we got the hour before 12 or after 3. His name is Josh. He was extremely unperfessional. We did start cleaning up immediately and was out the door before 4. After we left he was talking to my wife outside on the side walking blaming my wife his wife and the mother to be's pregnancy brain. Sooooooooooooo......... that's was happened. If you decide to rent this place beware. Make sure to bring a copy of the contract and or any messages or emails sent between Heather and yourself. As to some replies that I seen to people upset how you all treated us. I'd love to see the videos and audio that you say you have. I am will to bet my life that they will show that I'm telling the truth 100%. Response. You are just copying and pasting what you said to my aunt. Tell your side of the story. We all waited to speak with you from the the evening before the party. Before the party and after... nothing.. you sent your husband to intimidate a room full of women. I had a bad experience with the caramel apple with the chocolate candies on the outside. The apple was already starting to turn brown when I sliced it, and it had a very bland taste like it was going bad. I called the shop to tell them about it so they may prevent this in the future. Basically the girl said I would need to bring it back in or take a picture of it.. I told her that while the picture would show the browning, it would not capture the awful taste. She couldn't guarantee they would do anything about it. I don't think that this is very good customer service! I will not be back. $11 is alot of money to pay for the apple I received.
