New Young Chow Restaurant — Restaurant in Springboro

Just moved to the Boro and decided this place would be 1st on my try list for Chinese. I went with the General Tso Combo with chicken fried rice. Tso is my test order for any Chinese place .If it’s good I go back to try something else, if it’s not I never return. I think this Tso is going to be hard to beat , but I have to spread the love to some other places at least once to be fair. The Tso was awesome! I normally finish a combo serving at once , no problem, (hey don’t judge me) but today I decided to save some for breakfast tomorrow,it was that good :). The chicken had a nice fry , sauced generously and not soggy. Exactly what I was hoping for. The egg roll was good but not enough that I think I’ll double down in the future. I will try it again and give and update if I think about it. The broccoli was cooked perfect with some bite left to it, unlike some other places where you can get limp and sad crowns. The chicken in the fried rice was just ok. Honestly I could actually have done without it ,but if you are someone who likes that little surprise of meat in your fried rice then go for it. I need to try other menu items is the only reason why I can’t give the place 5 stars today. Hopefully if I remember, I will post another review for my undoubted return. I’d like to hope that New Young is the best around especially considering it’s the most convenient option in my vicinity, but the verdict is...

So far, I have had three experiences with this establishment. The first two were flawless. The third one, just this past evening, not so much. First off, the closing time listed on this very site very clearly states that closing time is 11pm. So I called them as I was leaving work at 10pm to collect my two friends who were also joining me. Upon informing the not at all friendly person who answered the phone that I wished to place call in order, I was met with "We no do call in" and was then promptly hung up on. Ok, a Chinese Take out establishment that doesn't do call orders and doesn't possess manners. But we were not deterred. I collected my friends and arrived back that the establishment at 10:35. We arrived to find the sign off and the inside dark, but the front door was hanging open, so we walked inside anyway... and were immediately met by an extremely rude old man pushing a broom who glared at us as though we had kicked his dog. Then along comes an almost equally rude woman who simply keeps repeating "We close! We close!" no matter how many times I tried to show her on my phone that the website listed their closing time as 11pm and it was only just past 10:30. The food quality for this establishment is wonderful, but their customer service skills definitely need an overhaul. Not sure if...

I'm sitting at the restaurant now. I ordered my food at 6:45, it is currently 7:20 and she's ignoring me. Others have come in, ordered, paid and left. One guy felt sorry for me.

Everyone she's gone food to, she knows so the must be regular customers.

I have heard so many good thing about this place and I really want to like it but at this point even if the food is the best I've ever had,I won't be back.

Just got my food and walked to the car. No apology about the 40 min wait (I was told it would be 15 or 20) Actually, she was rude to me when handing over my 2 meals. I have NO IDEA WHAT JUST HAPPENED or why!!

Update- definitely not good food. Everything is the same color and over cooked.

The egg foo young is more like huge pieces of broccoli with some egg. I've never seen or eaten anything so strange.

The Chop suey was way overcooked and everything is brown.

I give them credit for the won ton soup, it's palatable and so is the steamed white rice.

I just wasted $20.00 and 40...
